The episode recently appeared on YouTubeshowing off your lucky find.

She bought it with her husband on their honeymoon in 1957.

It cost $500 at the time.

She said she almost didn’t buy the tray because she needed another essential item.

“We really needed air conditioning and using the wedding check we received to buy a silver tray went against my better judgment,” she told an appraiser.

Fortunately, the investment paid off.

SILVER DOLLARS

The tray features the family coat of arms and detailed engravings.

The woman could make a lot of money by reselling the tray, according to appraiser Christopher Barber.

He pointed to the inscription on the back, which tells the story of the Williams family, landowners in Cornwall.

Its crest appears on the surface of the tray.

My mother handed me a lacquer box she bought from China – but the period and intricate carving make it worth $15,000

The owner said she located the Williams family, who said they were not interested in the item.

Barker said five different marks show who did it and when.

That’s how he knew it was from goldsmith John Crouch II, who created the tray in 1808.

That put the value at between $8,000 and $12,000, he said.

“Sounds like a good return on investment,” he told his wife.

The $500 she paid in 1957 would be worth more than $5,500 today, according to Amortização.orgwhich measures historical inflation.

However, this still means thousands in profits if it sells.
