That’s because the $40,000 Mega Millions jackpot will expire on June 9.

The winning ticket for the drawing held on December 12, 2023 was purchased in North Dakota.

While this normally results in a $10,000 prize, the winner also purchased the Megaplier multiplier.

This increased the prize four times to $40,000.

According to North Dakota Lottery rules, players have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
