The Thrifty Shopper, /waspnest0401 posted his discovery on a Reddit /ThriftStoreHauls forum.

“I’ve been wanting to try this for a while now, but I definitely wouldn’t pay full price,” the shopper wrote.

Accompanying her post was a photo of a pair of shoes: a multicolored pink, green, blue and black flat with a pointy toe.

The saver said the hyped pair of shoes is a vegan model from Rothy’s discontinued style.

Rothy’s manufacturing model uses recycled plastic to make the line that makes up its shoes.

“Our innovative 3D knitting process and exclusive line come together to create stylish shoes that please you and the planet,” says Rothy’s website.

Named the Sugared Berry style, the shoe is no longer available in stores.

It was released in November 2021 by the brand, along with four other shoe styles.

The buyer purchased the pair for just $5, a perverse reduction from the price now impacted by rarity.

“Once these bad boys hit the cleaners, I guess I’ll find out if they live up to the hype!” the post continued.

I found seven $1 full bottles of perfume at Goodwill and they’re worth $220 each on eBay thanks to the retro fragrance

Rothy’s has a sustainability model that focuses on the durability and long life of the products it sells.

After finding the pair of shoes, the buyer did some research and discovered their true value.

DISCOVERED VALUE

“Apparently this is a limited design called ‘sugar berry’ and for some reason people are reselling them at crazy prices!” the poster wrote.

Similar pointe shoes from the brand cost more than $100, going up to $155.

On secondhand sites like Poshmark, Sugared Berry shoes are sold for almost 50 times the saver’s investment and almost $100 more than the original retail price of $250.

After snagging this bargain, the shopper gave other Redditors some clear advice.

“When you stop looking, the economic gods deliver,” they shared.

Thrift store shoppers often purchase discarded and donated items that are worth enormous resale value.

A shopper found a Waterford Style Crystal Vintage Tumble Up Bedside Pitcher and Tumbler, valued at $475, for just a bargain.

Another daring customer bought a mystery watch bottle and discovered one was worth $250.

Similarly, a flower brooch purchased for $30 sold on resale markets for $1,785.
