COSTCO customers are making all kinds of strange demands to earn some cash back at the register.

A spectator noticed a shopper demanding a refund for a drink that cost him less than a dollar.

Costco’s lax return policy continues to give customers money back on unexpected items.

The wholesale retailer gives members money back on most items they are not 100% satisfied with.

“We guarantee your satisfaction with every product we sell and will refund the purchase price,” said Costco’s return policy states with only a few exceptions.

But some shoppers – and employees – are saying enough is enough, after repeatedly witnessing shocking returns.

A member posted on Costco subreddit because of a refund they witnessed at the soda fountain.

“I just witnessed a woman demand a refund on her soda for a whopping 69 cents because it wasn’t the ‘right temperature,’” they wrote on Reddit.

And the transaction reportedly did not go smoothly.

“I went back and forth between the returns counter, the manager, and finally back to the food court to process the refund,” the viewer wrote.

They even claimed they “almost handed her a dollar bill out of nowhere.” [their] pocket and told her to save everyone time.”

It’s also the Costco food court,” another user commented. [drink’s] less than a dollar… the hot dog costs 1.50. You don’t expect to get good food for that price.”

“You get what you pay for,” they said about returns like this.

“Returning a drink for less than a dollar is unreasonable to me,” commented another.

Others focused on employees who handle returns.

“I really feel bad for the people who have to work and return,” said one user. “The team looked so resigned and tired. It must suck.”

Costco’s Crazy Comeback

The US Sun continues to cover baffling items customers are bringing into Costco.

EXCEPTIONS EXPLAINED

While Costco prides itself on keeping members satisfied when they are dissatisfied with a product, there are certain exceptions to the policy.

Electronics must be returned within 90 days from the date the member received the product.

Those who purchased diamonds 1.00 ct or larger must return them with all original documentation within 48 hours.

They will also be inspected for authenticity.

Cigarettes, alcohol, tires, batteries and items with a limited useful life cannot be returned.

One member received a refund for a bone-in steak consumed while on vacation, with only bones and fat returned.

And this is where one Costco customer chose to cancel his membership entirely.
