Referring to herself as “just a girl who loves Goodwill”, Walker (@annesciam) makes TikToks documenting economic discoveries that she is particularly proud of.

Typically buying housewares, trinkets, and vacation items, Walker is a consistent secondhand shopper, but she didn’t find anything as special as what she found on this particular trip.

She captured an iconic American Girl doll found in a brief video which left fans of luxury toys in a state of total shock.

“Goodwill just gave my girls the best playmate ever,” she wrote in the caption.

TikTok opened with its first find — a wooden doll table for just $5.99 from Goodwill.

Meanwhile, in eBaya Samantha American Girl doll with books and the exact desk costs $300.

After that, Walker found the White Dresser for American Dolls for $3.99 which costs a whopping price $195 on Etsy.

Just when she thought she had gotten a good deal, she found the perfect companion for her accessory set – a gently used Samantha doll.

Pulling her from a top shelf, Walker revealed the doll, which was wearing a pink nightgown and had Samantha’s original hairstyle.

She then turned the doll upside down to reveal a $2.99 sticker on Samantha’s foot.

Original Samantha dolls in excellent condition are listed at the top $350 on Etsy.

Before she got too excited, she knew she should check one more thing.

LOCATE THE SEAL

Turning Samantha around, Walker lifted the doll’s hair to reveal crucial writing in the form of a seal.

Engraved on the doll’s neck were the words “Enjoyable Company.”

Part of the pre-Mattel doll cohort, the Pleasant Company American Girls were made from 1986 to 1999, before Mattel took control of the company, according to American girl fan.

Most expensive American dolls

American Girl dolls were considered the best friend, even though the collectible companions were exorbitantly priced.

Molly McIntire: one of the first American Girl dolls, the doll represents a girl from the Second World War, according to Mental Floss magazine. The doll cost up to US$800 on one website.

Samantha Parkington: The Progressive Era orphan was $400-600, but signed ones were $6,000 and $7,000.

Kirsten Larson: Playing the Pioneer Girl, the Traveler, and the Farm Girl could cost over $1,000, but sold for nearly $6,000 when signed.

Several changes to dolls after the Mattel acquisition can be seen in today’s toys.

Dolls released between approximately 1999-2002 may have characteristics of Mattel and Pre-Mattel dolls, according to the American Girl fandom.

Mattel officially took over the company in 1998.

Those with the Pleasant Company brand on the back of the neck may also be on the backs of Mattel dolls, as the molds were not changed immediately.

The seal remains a way for American Girl fans to verify the authenticity of their dolls.

“This is why I save,” Walker said in closing, revealing her new Samantha doll sitting at the table with a dresser next to it.

A buyer bought two $10 plush toys from a popular movie and sold them for much more than their price.

Plus, one lucky person found a $450 vase for just $7.99.
