The former Taco Bell executive became CEO of the American restaurant and gift store chain in August.

“We’re just not as relevant as we once were,” Masino said on a May 16 conference call to discuss his plans to update the restaurants. CBS News reported.

She also said that Cracker Barrel has “lost some of its shine” and needs a “transformation” to attract new customers.

“[W]We are not leading in any area,” Masino emphasized.

“[T]The reality is that we lost some market share, especially at dinner.”

Upcoming changes include green chili cornbread, price adjustments and some remodeling.

When it comes to a new look, Masino noted, “A different color palette, updating the lighting, offering more comfortable seating and simplifying decor and accessories.”

“The goal, quite simply, was to freshen things up so they were noticeable and attractive,” she explained.

“But I still feel like Cracker Barrel.”

Masino also emphasized that customer feedback was positive.
