WALMART has responded to the rumors and confirmed that it will not be changing its opening hours anytime soon.

The retail giant said it has “no immediate plans” to return to its fan favorites policy in U.S. stores.

Just a few days ago, several social media users claimed that Walmart would resume its 24-hour operations in all stores starting August 14th.

The country’s largest private sector halted its 24-hour service amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

“Walmart announced that starting June 3rd, all locations in the US will return to 24-hour operation,” read a post shared on X, formerly Twitter.

Other posts making the same claim were reshared tens of thousands of times on other social media platforms.

However, the retailer has now shut down those rumors and said it will not return to 24-hour operations – at least for now.

“[There] there are no current plans to return our stores to 24-hour operation,” said Walmart spokesman Joe Pennington. Snopes in an email.

The US Sun has reached out to Walmart for comment.

Similar claims were also made in 2021, when social media users began speculating about the retailer’s opening hours.

“Excellent News for night thieves. 24-hour Walmart starts August 14, 2022,” read a post shared thousands of times on Facebook.

The rumor was verified by USA Today, he received an email from Walmart refuting the claims.

This comes after a Walmart shopper shared her frustration with the store’s additional receipt checks after self-checkout in an online rant.

Walmart Shoppers Frustrated With Self-Checkout Changes

Walmart routinely puts its customers through receipt checks before they can leave the store.

Whether shoppers use self-checkout or have their purchases scanned by an employee, employees stand at the door with a marker in hand to mark all receipts.

NEW POLICY

Walmart recently introduced a new policy at self-service checkout registers that is also proving unpopular.

Store managers can now close select registrations for Walmart+ members and delivery drivers only.

This means customers must pay the $98 per year subscription to use self-checkout sometimes.

Customers threatened to abandon their carts and abandon the move.

Walmart is refunding customers who were overcharged at self-checkout.

And see if you can claim up to $500 in a Walmart deal.
