IN THE vast landscape of fast-food chains, McDonald’s has long been a symbol of convenience, consistency and affordability.

However, a recent visit to the McDonald’s restaurant in Barstow Station left one customer questioning the global franchise’s reputation.

One dissatisfied customer took to social media to express his disappointment, citing several complaints during his visit.

The main reason for the trip was a simple request for chicken nuggets from his grandson, the customer shared on Facebook publish.

What followed, however, was far from a typical McDonald’s experience, all because of a new refill policy.

Customers noticed that free refills had already run out.

This new policy made customers raise their eyebrows and question the value offered by McDonald’s.

The angry poster added that they would have preferred to have gone to In ‘N Out Burger for “better food, better prices, better everything.”

“Ugh, I hate going to McDonald’s,” someone commented on the post in response.

“The service is horrible, no matter what it is, now it’s all kiosks and still horrible.”

A TikTok user, @Jayrizzhas been sharing a series of videos detailing his experiences working at McDonald’s.

The user covered a variety of topics, from common phrases used by McDonald’s employees to their unspoken thoughts.

Six Clever McDonald’s Menu Tricks

She also revealed insider secrets that the franchise might prefer to keep hidden.

On a videoshe issued a warning note to her followers about one specific menu item – the large fries.

Drawing on her time as an employee, she revealed one aspect of McDonald’s training: Employees are instructed not to overfill large fry containers.

“You just drop the fries and they are full,” she said.

According to her, trying to pack the large fry container to its maximum capacity would only accommodate “about three medium fries.”

All about McDonald’s refill change

As McDonald’s faces criticism for price increases, the company is considering discontinuing its free drink refills.

The renowned chain has offered self-serve soda machines for 22 years, but in light of recent developments, McDonald’s is considering implementing fees for refills.

Last year, McDonald’s revealed its intention to phase out self-serve drink machines, with the aim of removing them completely from all its stores by 2032.

Some customers claim that the company has already implemented this change in selected restaurants.

“I was a manager at McDonald’s and I can confirm this for sure,”
commented a user on the video.

“When they give me my fries, I give them back and tell them to fill them up,” commented another.

On the other hand, some employees told stories of deliberately overfilling fry containers, perhaps as an act of defiance or frustration.

“I fill up the fries and the managers watch,” said another.

Meanwhile, the president of McDonald’s has presented evidence to refute claims that prices have soared by more than 100%.

And American consumers have been faced with rising food expenses, prompting a shift in the perception that eating a burger and fries is now seen as a luxury.
