Executives at GoDigital Media Group, the parent company of Bob’s Stores, have decided to close some of its underperforming stores.

Bob’s Stores have been part of the American retail landscape since the 1950s, but stores in New Jersey and Connecticut are expected to close, according to NBC affiliate WVIT-TV.

Stores in Freehold and Watchung, New Jersey will be affected.

Bob’s Stores located in Southington and Hamden, Connecticut, will also close.

Closing dates have not yet been announced, but bosses have thanked the employees who will be impacted.

“This decision was not made lightly,” said a company spokesperson.

The chain, known for selling shoes and clothing, has around 20 stores in the United States.

News of the pending shutdowns went viral, prompting a mixed response on social media.

Some buyers claimed the items sold were too expensive, while others were desperate.

“I liked that store,” shouted one fan.

Online shoppers receive the message “Under construction” when they access the chain’s website.

“We will be back soon with an improved online shopping experience,” he says.

“In the meantime, our stores are open and stocked.”

US Sun has reached out to Go Digital Brands for comment.

Go Digital Brands is also the parent company of Eastern Mountain Sports.

Five Eastern Mountain Sports stores will close.

Impacted locations include Manchester, New Hampshire, Deptford, New Jersey and Freeport, Maine.

Stores in Burlington and Hyannis, Massachusetts.

OTHER TERMINATIONS

An Eastern Mountain Sports store in East Albany, New York, closed its doors on June 2.

Before closing, signs were placed in the windows informing customers that the outlet’s days were numbered.

Last month, bosses at Stuyvesant Plaza, where the store was located, admitted the outlet’s future was uncertain.

“Things are very fluid right now,” a spokesperson told Union of Times.

Meanwhile, bosses at the popular Stop and Shop chain have confirmed there will be store closures.

The chain has around 400 stores in five states.

It is not known how many stores will close.

But JJ Fleeman, CEO of the network’s parent company, admitted that the company is not where it should be, because Asbury Park Press.

It has also been reported that bosses at clothing chain Rue 21 have announced plans to close all of its 540 stores.

Discount sales with items cut by up to 50% have begun across the country.

Restaurant Closings in 2024

BOSSes of major restaurant chains have announced a series of restaurant closures. The US Sun compiled a list of those affected by the network.

  • Biscuit Barrel: Stores in Medford, Oregon, Columbia, South Carolina and Sacramento, California, closed.
  • Mod Pizza: Bosses drastically closed 27 stores, including in the state of California.
  • Frisch’s Big Boy: Restaurant bosses have confirmed the closure of a restaurant in Covington, Kentucky.
  • Two dolars: Four restaurants in Ohio are set to close.
  • Pepper: A restaurant in Port Arthur, Texas, has closed permanently.
  • Friendly: Bosses have confirmed that an establishment in Ronkonkoma, Long Island, will close.
  • Pizza Hut: A restaurant in Glen Falls, New York, closed at the end of March.
  • Danny: Two restaurants in Boise and Nampa, Idaho, have closed.
  • Carl’s Jr.: The first location in Boise, Idaho, has closed.
