The ticket came from a truck stop in Houma, an hour south of New Orleans.

The truck stop, located at 1541 Grand Caillou Road, has a casino inside.

The ticket numbers appeared in the draw on June 5th.

The numbers to look for are 08-44-45-51-69-12, according to state lottery.

Louisiana winners have 180 days to claim their prizes, which means the person who won this ticket has until December 2, 2024.

If no one responds by that date, the State will keep the money.

HOW TO PLAY

Powerball, like the similar game Mega Millions, is a national draw game.

Players purchase tickets with numbers they can select or randomly assigned.

Three times a week, Powerball numbers are drawn.

If you match the numbers on your ticket with the numbers on the randomly selected lottery balls, you win.

How much you earn varies.

There are several ways to make money playing Powerball:

  • Matching just the red Powerball or the Powerball with a white ball wins a $4 prize.
  • Match three white balls or two white balls and the Powerball wins a prize of $7.
  • Match four white balls or three white balls and the Powerball wins $100.
  • Four white Powerball balls win $50,000.
  • All five white balls win $1 million.
  • All five white balls and the Powerball win the jackpot.

The winner from Louisiana matched four white balls, but a 3x multiplier tripled the prize.

LOTTER

California officials have warned that a massive $2.9 million prize is about to expire.

If no one claims it, the Mega Millions prize will go to the state’s public schools.

Winners who claim their prize may receive less than they expect.

A Louisiana woman recently lost more than $200,000 in her lottery winnings.

The Washington Lottery has millions of dollars in unclaimed tickets.

A Delaware Powerball prize has gone unclaimed in months.
