Eligible Atlanta residents, Georgia You can submit a claim to get a discount of up to $2,000 on your electric bike purchase.

The Atlanta E-Bike Rebate Program is designed to provide affordable transportation options for residents of the city of Atlanta.

The program targets low- and middle-income families.

Funded by a $1,000,000 investment from the City of Atlanta, “this initiative aims to break down barriers to e-bike ownership, reduce transportation costs, and replace individual car trips to work, the grocery store, and local parks and recreation centers,” according to the website.

HOW MUCH?

There are four different payment levels available.

Residents without income qualifications can get $500 off a standard electric bike or $1,000 off an electric cargo bike.

Cargo e-bikes are designed to carry heavy loads and people, including groceries, children or pets.

Income-qualified residents can get $1,000 off a standard electric bike or $1,000 off an electric cargo bike.

To be income eligible, beneficiaries must have a household income no greater than 80% of the Atlanta area median income, which is $60,200 or less for an individual.

For a family of four, it costs US$86,000.

ELECTION CRITERIA

There are four eligibility criteria you must meet to claim a payment.

First, you must be a resident of the city of Atlanta

You must also be at least 18 years old.

You must submit an online application between Sunday, June 16th and Sunday, June 23rd.

How to claim the discount

The program will provide an initial discount known as a point-of-sale discount, which means the discount amount is deducted from the price of the bike when you purchase it from a local bike store.

You do not need to send a receipt and you will be reimbursed after your purchase.

Discounts are limited to one per City of Atlanta resident and bikes must be purchased at a participating local bike shop.

If you are selected to receive an e-bike discount, you must provide documentation that proves your eligibility.

Recipients of the discount will be selected during the week of June 23rd.

The city may issue additional discounts and open future application rounds on an ongoing basis.

Atlanta isn’t the only place residents can get some free resources money.

Texans can receive $3,000 for installing solar panels.

And Boulder, Colorado, is giving out $318 as a food tax rebate.
