According to the Massachusetts native, he’s been playing the same set of numbers since he started playing the lottery nearly two decades ago.

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for the last twenty years,” Ensko said NBC affiliate WWLP.

The man stated that the number played corresponds to his birthday.

According to the outlet, Ensko purchased the winning ticket at Anderson’s Variety in Blackstone, MA.

When asked how he planned to use his newly acquired prize money, Ensko stated that he would use it to help his family, specifically his children and grandchildren.

This isn’t the first time Ensko has received a winning ticket.

Twenty years ago, his wife also got the $1 million prize when she bought an instant ticket.

Despite the huge payout, the Massachusetts couple is the only one celebrating a surprise payout.

According to the regulations, big pot winners can choose between two distribution methods.

One method would be to receive a lump sum all at once or pay it back gradually over a set period of time.

Lottery winnings: lump sum or annual fee?

Players who win big on lottery tickets often have a choice to make: lump sum or annual fee?

Both payment methods can affect how much money you receive from your prize.

Annuities are paid slowly in increments, usually over 30 years.

Lump sums are paid all at once, but in smaller amounts since taxes are withheld all at once. This means 24% of your prize goes to Uncle Sam immediately. Many states also tax earnings.

Annuities can give winners time to create the financial infrastructure needed to receive a life-changing amount of money, but lump sums have the advantage of being taxed only once.

It’s also worth considering inflation when making a choice, as payments don’t adjust to the value of a dollar. This means you will likely receive less valuable money at the end of an annuity.

Each state and game pays prizes differently, so it’s best to check with your state’s lottery to confirm payment policies. A financial advisor can also help you weigh the pros and cons of each option.

Experts have differing opinions on the possibility of get the lump sum or take the annual fee.

An Illinois lottery player known as the “MEGA Millionaire” has won $552 million – the largest sum in US history.

“I was scrolling through my emails when I saw one from the Illinois Lottery saying to check my numbers because I won a prize,” the MEGA Millionaire told authorities.

“In the past, I’ve made $2 here or $5 there, so I assumed it would be similar.”

The player’s winning strategy was to participate in online lottery games, via iLottery.

This allows players to purchase draws or subscriptions to different games, such as Powerball and Mega Millions, on their mobile devices or computers.

“You cannot imagine my shock and disbelief when I saw that I had won the $552 million jackpot,” said the winner.

“I actually logged out of the app and logged back in to check and make sure it was real. It was fine – but it still feels unreal!”

According to the winner, he managed to match all five numbers and also the Mega Ball.

“I’m a hard worker. I spent my life as a factory worker, and when I made a decent living, I asked my mother to retire and let me take care of her,” said the winner.

“It was my way of thanking her for how much she sacrificed for us. I haven’t told her about this life-changing windfall yet, but when that time comes, we will all be shedding happy tears.”

The anonymous winner hinted that he planned to use the winnings to retire early.

“I always dreamed of retiring early and enjoying life with my family,” they told authorities.

“I think it’s safe to say my dream just came true.”
