Approved budget for firefighters

The budget calls for more local firefighters and more equipment for firefighters.

The Firefighters and Personnel for Appropriate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant Program helps provide funding to departments in need.

A few weeks left to request payment from Verizon

The total will increase in $1 increments depending on how long you’ve been a Verizon customer, according to the settlement administrator.

In the settlement email, the customer will receive an ID and confirmation code that they will need to receive the money.

Once customers locate the correct information, they will have until April 15 to submit a complaint online.

After settlement is complete, customers will be paid by check or electric payment.

Verizon Cash Payment Eligibility

Eligible customers must have received postpaid data or wireless services from Verizon, which is the opposite of a prepaid plan.

Postpaid users typically sign contracts and are charged based on monthly usage.

Those eligible for payment should have received notice of the process by mail or email.

It has not yet been determined how much each eligible customer will receive, which is common in class action lawsuits.

Those eligible for the money will likely receive between $15 and $100.

Verizon agrees payment of US$100 million

The cell phone and internet company has agreed to pay $100 million to settle a class-action lawsuit over an alleged deceptive scheme.

The lawsuit alleges that the deceptive scheme involved the company’s administrative charges.

Although Verizon denies doing anything wrong, they agreed to pay each customer up to $100.

Under the agreement, Verizon has decided to amend its customer agreement to more clearly disclose the administrative fee in question, although it still intends to charge it.

To qualify for the class action settlement, you must be a current or former U.S. customer who was charged and paid an Administrative Fee and/or a Telecommunications and Administrative Recovery Fee between January 1, 2016 and November 8, 2023, the notice states.

New Jersey Economic Stimulus Completed

There are also requirements around which companies qualify.

A business must be at least 51% veteran or military-owned, have 100 or fewer employees, and make a certain amount of money to be considered.

Eligible businesses must have gross receipts totaling between $25,000 and $2,500,000 in 2019 or 2020.

More details are available on the county website website.

Registration questions can be directed to 609-755-5711 or BurlCoVets@cpgh.net.

Economic Stimulus in New Jersey, Continued

To qualify for money, you must be a veteran living in Burlington County, New Jersey.

The money will go specifically to businesses that have suffered losses due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

For the program, this means you must be able to demonstrate a loss of at least 25% in annual gross receipts in 2020.
