‘Where can you go?’ Angers Kroger Customers As Store ‘Abruptly Closes Early’ — Erratic Hours Started Months Ago

KROGER shoppers have become frustrated with one store’s opening hours, claiming the location’s closing hours have been irregular for months.

Two board members in Louisville, Kentuckyare trying to figure out why their local Kroger is closing so early, as it is one of only two grocery stores in the west end of the area.

Jessica Sharp, spokeswoman for Krogersaid in an email that the location is open from 8am to 9am every day, but shoppers said otherwise.

Miss Caldwell walks to the store every day as she lives just a few blocks away, however, she said the location has had strange hours in recent months.

She decided to do her shopping in the middle of the day so she wouldn’t get stuck.

If the store closes early, Caldwell told the local Fox affiliate WDRB-TV which she is then forced to wait until the next day to pick up your items.

Antwan Jones claims to have had a similar experience.

“People have to walk to this supermarket, people don’t have money for Uber Eat and all that fancy stuff,” Jones told WDRB-TV.

The buyer goes to Kroger on his bike, but said there were a few times when he was disappointed.

“Where can you go?” he asked, pointing out that the nearest supermarket is miles away.

Metro Council Members Tammy Hawkins and Jecorey Arthur are planning a rally in Kroger parking at 2pm on Wednesday.

“This collaboration aims to potentially extend the opening hours of one of the few grocery stores in West Louisville, addressing the significant issue of food insecurity in this area,” reads a statement from his office.

Caldwell said the store appears to be understaffed, which she thinks could be the reason for the early closure.

However, she and other residents hope the problem will be resolved soon.

O News comes as one Kroger The site in Decatur, Georgia — about seven miles northeast of Atlanta — will be demolished six years after it closed its doors.

The grocery store was a staple at Fairview Park Plaza sixty years ago, according to the Herald Review.

He closed 2018 with the company saying it did not renew the contract due to lack of profits.

Buyers tried to save the store, but the location remained empty for the past six years.

Kroger’s Strange Hours

The Kroger grocery store on West Broadway has had irregular hours in recent months.

A spokesperson for the retailer said the site is open from 8am to 9pm every day, however shoppers have said the store closes earlier on some days.

Two members of the Metro Council decided to hold a demonstration in the parking lot to get to the bottom of the issue.

“This collaboration aims to potentially extend the opening hours of one of the few grocery stores in West Louisville, addressing the significant issue of food insecurity in this area,” reads a statement from his office.

There were also efforts to fill the vacant land with another businesshowever, this also failed.

“After Kroger vacated the 50,000 square foot space in 2018, Main Place Properties diligently searched for a new anchor tenant to fill the void,” read one News release.

“Despite these efforts, the changing landscape and the recent addition of a new (City of Decatur) fire station on the site led to a strategic decision to repurpose the space.”

Meanwhile, the company announced in March that a facility in Indiana would close its doors after 17 health department violations.

Another location in Atlanta will close on August 17 due to the expiration of its lease.

The US Sun has reached out to Kroger for comment.
