The restaurant known for its soul food announced its closure last week with a sign placed in front of the closed restaurant.

“Our last day at this location will be Sunday, June 23, 2024,” it read.

“Pasadena, thank you for 30 wonderful years.”

Customers flocked to the place on closing day for one last meal.

“Enjoying Roscoe’s for the last time. It’s closing today!” a Californian he wrote on Facebook.

Meanwhile, others shared their reaction to the loss with one fan saying he “cannot be consoled”.

“This was my mom’s favorite place,” said one.

“I think I came here once, but I was very young and didn’t understand the importance.”

“Nooooo!! After 30 years, Roscoe is CLOSED in Pasadena!!” other he wrote.

“I leave Los Angeles for a minute – and my favorite fried chicken place closes for good? (I think I used to go there A LOT if I kept it open alone!)

TGI Fridays customers were left stunned when the place abruptly closed for good – they saw a note on the door and beer being loaded into the truck

“So sad. I can’t be comforted.”

“30 years was a great run! Thanks for the memories,” added a third.

Despite the disappointment, fans were encouraged to “stay tuned” as the network revealed it has not given up on Pasadena.

“We are looking for another updated location in Pasadena,” the closing sign revealed.

Meanwhile, those living in the Golden State saw the latest closure as part of a pattern.

“Another day, another business closing. Business as usual in California,” said one Facebook user.

“It’s sad to see all these places closing. Arby’s is closing too,” added another.

Restaurant Closings in 2024

BOSSes of major restaurant chains have announced a series of restaurant closures. The US Sun compiled a list of those affected by the network.

  • Biscuit Barrel: Stores in Medford, Oregon, Columbia, South Carolina and Sacramento, California, closed.
  • Mod Pizza: Bosses dramatically closed 27 stores in April, including some in the state of California.
  • Frisch’s Big Boy: Restaurant bosses confirmed the closure of a restaurant in Covington, Kentucky, in April.
  • Outback Steakhouse: The chain will close 41 “underperforming” locations this year.
  • Two dolars: Four restaurants in Ohio closed in April.
  • Pepper: A restaurant in Port Arthur, Texas, has closed permanently, as has another in Irvine, California.
  • Friendly: Bosses have confirmed that an establishment in Ronkonkoma, Long Island, will close.
  • Pizza Hut: A restaurant in Glen Falls, New York, closed in late March, followed by four in Ohio in June and 15 in Indiana.
  • Danny: Two restaurants in Boise and Nampa, Idaho, have closed.
  • Carl’s Jr.: The first location in Boise, Idaho, has closed.
  • In and out: A location in Oakland closed earlier this year due to crime in the area.
  • cheesecake factory: The chain is expected to close a location in Memphis, Tennessee, in July.
  • Applebee’s: Announced the closure of between 25 and 35 locations this year.
  • Taco John’s: He closed a restaurant in Minnesota and put the building up for sale in May.
  • Rubio’s Coastal Grill: Announced the closure of 48 locations in California after filing for bankruptcy.
  • Burger King: It closed a California location in June after 30 years.

The US Sun reported on the closure of an Arby’s in California earlier this month.

Other recent restaurant closures in the state include a pizza chain, Burger King and Rubio’s Coastal Grill.

This comes after the state introduced a $20 minimum wage for fast-food chain workers in April.

The CEO of Rubio’s blamed the new law for the closure of 48 locations across the state that have “maxed out” business.

However, no reason was given for the closure of the Roscoe location.

However, it has had its share of financial difficulties, notably filing for bankruptcy in 2016.

US Sun has reached out to the network for comment.
