AFTER several years of service, a popular discount store is closing its doors.
A Salvation Army thrift store is set to close next week in Binghamton, New York.
The Salvation Army on Griswold Street in Binghamton will close next month.
The store will officially close its doors on July 15th.
He can no longer support himself financially, according to reports from local Fox affiliate WICZ.
The store provided hundreds of thousands of items of clothing, household items and furniture to residents.

Salvation Army services will continue to be available to those in need, WICZ said.
Clearance sales with up to 25% off are being offered until close.
The US Sun contacted the Salvation Army on Griswold Street, but the location did not have phone service.
A spokesperson for the Salvation Army Binghamton Adult Rehabilitation Center confirmed the closure on July 15.
Maj. Patricia Kurtz, administrator of the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Binghamton, released a statement about the closure, per WICZ.
“This is a heartbreaking decision for us at the Salvation Army to close a thrift store that has long been such an important part of the community,” Kurtz said.
“However, financially, we can no longer sustain the efforts at this location. The Binghamton community has blessed us by embracing us for so long, and we thank them for their support over the years.”
CUSTOMER REACTION
Customers are expressing grief over the loss of their local thrift store.
“Sad. Last week I bought a Ralph Lauren sport jacket for $2.99,” said one customer.
“All good things come to an end,” said another.
However, not everyone shared the same sentiment regarding the closure.
