AN Aldi shopper was furious after spotting a major change to the packaging of a beloved product.
The customer shared the recent discovery on their local Aldi on Facebook.
Deborah Walczak was forced to ask an associate for help after struggling to find a tube of crescent rolls.
To her surprise, the employee found them immediately – but they were far from the rolls she was familiar with.
“He pointed right in front of me,” Walczak he wrote.
“Why did the packaging change? Are many afraid to open the tube?? Economical, I’m sure.”
Included with the postage was the package of Bake House Creations Crescent Rolls, but instead of traditional tube packaging, the rolls came in a bag.
In a comment, Walczak explained that he went to Aldi website to share your concerns.
She noted that the product came out dry and flavorless, with “no fuzz after cooking.”
“I also sent a photo, so I hope to get some responses in my email,” she added.
Comments from other shoppers were also unflattering about the new packaging, with some complaining that a change wasn’t necessary.
“I haven’t heard anything favorable about this,” one person wrote.
“Why do they always turn a good thing into something NOT good,” asked someone else.
Others said their store still has the tubes, meaning the change may not be widespread.
A buyer snapped the new packaging after two failed attempts.
“They’re horrible! I bought two packs, baked one and threw most of it away,” she wrote.
“Zero flavor, not flaky, just disgusting. Needless to say, the other package went straight in the trash. I will never buy this again!
“They were good until they changed the recipe and packaging.”
