Reports remain stable
The popular tax filing service H&R Block is still down on Tax Day.
Between 1,400 and 1,500 customers reported problems throughout the morning and afternoon with the tax filing service.
‘This is unacceptable’
H&R Block customers remain furious as the popular tax service has had issues all morning.
“I’ve given up. I might try again tonight. I want a full refund for the program and the state’s e-file after I finally submit it,” one H&R Block user wrote on Downdetector.
“This is unacceptable on the last day of tax season. I certainly won’t worry about them again next year and will use the standard portals on the IRS website and the State website.”
Customers demand refunds
H&R Block tax filers have been demanding refunds since service went down this morning.
Since I had to print and mail my return because I was unable to e-file, will you refund me the federal e-file fee I paid when purchasing the software?

H&R block aware of the problems
Popular tax filing service H&R Block says it is aware of the issues and working to resolve them.
We are working to quickly resolve the issue and ask that customers please try again later today or print and mail your return if that is more convenient.

‘It’s already absurd’
An H&R Block customer shared their displeasure as the tax filing service dealt with outage issues this morning.
“It’s already absurd that you have to pay an additional $40 fee for each additional state you need to file, but then they hide an additional $20 fee at the end to actually file it via email if you have to do more than one state.
“And now it doesn’t even work, and I can’t get a refund, so I can use the money to talk to a real tax professional (which would have cost about the same amount) and get this resolved.
“H&R Block is a total trash and dirty company. First they lobby for the tax system to be a mess and then they charge for it; and then when THEY screw it up and can’t file taxes in the system THEY set up, YOU will receive deplorable extra fees,” said the customer on Downdetector.
