Dawn explained the recent experience that left her and the other customers upset.

The dinner (@_dawnmontgomery) complained to the company in X.

“Hey @Applebees we ate here in Laurel, MS. Before we, a group of 10 people, sat down, we were told that our waitress was new and was afraid of waiting on large tables,” she wrote in an X publish.

The restaurant then praised this server’s work.

“We were patient with Melissa and she did a great job,” she said.

Dawn then explained that this service caused her to leave a $150 tip.

“When the check came out I tipped it. Why did the manager make me leave my number because…” she wrote.

Dawn suggested that the Applebee’s manager had taken her number to call the company to confirm that customers intended to leave such a large tip.

“I also never had to sign and leave my number because my tip was so high,” she wrote.

Dawn also stated that she spoke to other waiters at the restaurant about this experience.

“THEY confirmed that the only thing the manager should have done was confirm the tip amount,” she wrote.

“That’s it. But no, the manager made a scene about it and tried to act like it wasn’t going to happen.

Dawn also asked the network not to reach out to her unless she wanted to apologize.

She shared a photo of her receipt that showed the food cost $278.49 and she had tipped $150.

A user X (@twice_sifted) stated that the restaurant chain should appreciate this type of act.

“The way @Applebees should be grateful that people still want to eat there after most of their food is now heated and served in the corporate warehouse, and then THIS?” they wrote.

“Definitely not the way to end a day of fun, laughter and enjoying your family,” another commenter wrote.
