WALMART shoppers are criticizing the national retailer for reducing hours after making several other big changes.
Many national chains like Walmart and Target have come under fire in recent months for altering the customer experience with changes aimed at speeding up checkout and reducing shoplifting.
Some customers complained of technical problems when using self-checkout or even picking something up by mistake, causing serious problems.
Other shoppers said they hate it when employees stop them to check their receipts because it wastes their time or makes them feel “like criminals.”
In addition to all these issues, two shoppers recently encountered another obstacle to customer satisfaction at the largest retailer in the United States.
User X’s Vic3 encryption (@vgcryp) shared his negative opinion about Walmart’s new opening hours earlier this month — and how it’s making it turn to competitors like Amazon.
“If Walmart doesn’t go back to the 24/7 model, they will be second best at whatever Amazon decides to take away from them,” the shopper wrote.
It all came down to opening hours, the user said.
“Closing at 10 is crazy. Being a few cents cheaper isn’t going to save them much longer.”
“Be a success business model is about service delivery. They forgot,” she added.
NOT THE FIRST TO NOTIFY
Another shopper said he’s also tired of Walmart’s limited opening hours.
“Walmart no longer opening 24/7 is one thing, but where I live it closes at 10pm,” see (@veetwenty4seven) posted on X.
“This is unacceptable. They need to close at least at 2am,” he wrote.
Walmart began reducing its hours along with many other businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
WITHOUT LOOKING BACK
Earlier this month, rumors circulated on social media that Walmart would relaunch its 24/7 operating policy.
Similar claims were also made in 2021 by another group of social media users.
“Walmart announced that starting June 3rd, all US locations will return to 24-hour operation,” read one X post.
