COSTCO members rushing to grab the last remaining groceries for July 4th celebrations should take note of the chain’s hours of operation.
Loyal customers may even have to make a distressing decision to buy from competitors because of the retailer’s decision.
This is because Costco warehouse doors across the country will be closed on Independence Day.
July 4th is one of the seven days on which the wholesaler’s stores close their doors, according to the chain.
Costco warehouses are closed on other holidays, including Memorial Day, which falls in the spring, and Labor Day in September.
Workers are also off on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Shoppers who realize they need to buy a package of hot dog buns or barbecue burgers need not despair.
A number of popular retailers will continue trading on July 4th.
Sam’s Club warehouses will be open, but trading hours will vary depending on customer membership.
Sam’s Club Plus members can access stores between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
But, those who are standard Club members can purchase products between 10am and 6pm.
This policy also goes into effect on Memorial Day and Labor Day.
The basic Sam’s Club membership will cost shoppers $50, while the Plus membership costs $110.
Sam’s Club warehouses are closed to mark Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, according to the company website.
