ALTHOUGH Costco is known for its convenient food court, some shoppers have joked that some customers are taking advantage of cheap meal deals at the wrong food court.

A Costco member recently asked the popular wholesaler to revoke another customer’s membership after he was accused of eating certain foods wrong.

Costco’s food court is a beloved perk of the pricey annual membership.

The food court is typically open during regular operating hours, offering a variety of easy meals for shoppers.

The big-box retailer is known for lowering prices on menu items, particularly its hot dog and drink combo, which has cost $1.50 for decades.

Shoppers can also purchase slices or whole pies of pizza, as well as Swiss turkey sandwiches, ice cream, cookies, smoothies, salads and the popular rotisserie chicken for $4.

While a membership is not required to access other Costco perks like the pharmacy, a membership is required to enter the food court.

“Costco is a membership club, therefore a membership card is required to enter the warehouse and/or food courts,” the company said Country life this spring.

Costco shoppers have long had strong opinions about the wholesaler’s food court, often about changing menu items.

However, some even make judgments about how others eat their shopping snacks.

A buyer recently shared his thoughts on the X.

“@Costco has 2 members in the food court using pizza as buns for hot dogs in a bun,” the post it started.

“Is there a formal process to revoke membership or should I go straight to the police???”

The shopper also shared a photo of the other customer’s meal, which appeared to show a half-eaten hot dog wrapped in a half-eaten piece of pizza.

This isn’t the first time Costco members have combined menu items.

Many have shared their unique – and sometimes stomach-aching – concoctions on TikTok, calling them the “ultimate food hacks.”

A set of buyers revealed they combined roast chicken, hot dogs, and pizza, calling it “Jochizza.”

OTHER FOOD COURT CLAIMS

Costco members aren’t shy about making their opinions heard when they’re unhappy with changes to the retailer’s food court.

Earlier this year, the wholesaler revealed it would crack down on customers previously frequenting the food court who were not Costco members.

The change upset many fans.

“Oh shit yeah the Costco food court now requires a membership, just keep stomping on us more,” one user X raged.

Costco Membership Sharing Guidelines

Costco has strict rules for subscription usage that shoppers must follow and has been cracking down on violators in recent years.

  • Core Member Usage: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. It is not allowed to share it for purchases, as the photo on the card must correspond to the person using it.
  • Domestic Card: Each Prime Member can add one free Household Cardholder who lives at the same address. That person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
  • Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per Costco visit. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by a member.
  • Authorized cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who does not reside at your address. They will receive their own card and will be able to make purchases independently.

“I went to the Costco food court to get a slice of pizza and they said starting April 8th you need to be a member to get food at the food court and that might just be my 13th reason,” said another.

Others criticized the quality of the food, claiming it made them sick while shopping.

“The food court is rubbish,” said one customer.

“The hot dogs and pizza, while delicious, are so packed with salt and fat that I am literally sick a few hours later or so lethargic that I don’t want to do anything else.”

Costco shoppers can find the food court indoor or outdoor depending on their location.
