Sailors of Lincoln, approximately 55 miles southwest of Omaha, was successful once again, winning $220,000 in the Nebraska Pick 5 of the Nebraska Lottery.

She purchased her winning ticket at Casey’s #2973, located at 3500 N 48th St. in Lincoln.

The ticket contained three quick-pick plays for the June 22 drawing, one of which matched that night’s winning numbers: 04, 11, 22, 24 and 27.

This latest win marks the Sailors’ biggest Pick 5 jackpot to date.

Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time she’s hit the jackpot; in June 2019, she claimed a Pick 5 prize of $54,000.

Their victories are all the more extraordinary because both tickets were printed in error.

“I don’t let mistakes slide,” Sailors said.

“I don’t let them just sit there.”

In both cases, she bought an extra ticket that had been accidentally printed, a decision that paid off.

ABOUT CHOICE 5

All proceeds stay in Nebraska and all winning tickets are sold exclusively at Nebraska Lottery Lotto game stores.

The odds of winning the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot, which starts at $50,000 and increases by $10,000 for each drawing without a winner, are 1 in 658,008.

The overall odds of winning any prize in the game are 1 in 9.2, with draws held seven nights a week.

CLAIMING A PRIZE IN NEBRASKA

For Lottery games, prizes can be redeemed up to 180 days after the draw date, in accordance with the Nebraska Lottery.

Lottery winnings: lump sum or annual fee?

Players who win big on lottery tickets typically have a choice to make: lump sum or annual fee?

Both payment methods can affect how much money you receive from your prize.

Annuities are paid slowly in increments, usually over 30 years.

Lump sums are paid all at once, but in smaller amounts since taxes are withheld all at once. This means 24% of your prize goes to Uncle Sam immediately. Many states also tax earnings.

Annuities can give winners time to establish the financial infrastructure necessary to receive a life-changing amount of money, but lump sums have the advantage of being taxed only once.

It’s also worth considering inflation when making a choice, as payments don’t adjust to the value of a dollar. This means you will likely receive less valuable money at the end of an annuity.

Each state and game pays prizes differently, so it’s best to check with your state’s lottery to confirm payment policies. A financial advisor can also help you weigh the pros and cons of each option.

Experts have differing opinions on the possibility of take the fixed amount or take the annual fee.

However, lottery tickets cannot be cashed out until 5am CT the day after the drawing.

Scratch card prizes can be redeemed up to 180 days after the game closing date.

There is no fee to claim Nebraska Lottery prizes.

Prizes up to $500 can be claimed at any Nebraska Lottery retailer, although some retailers may limit the amount they can pay out due to security concerns.

Tickets with prizes between $501 and $19,999 must be claimed by mail or at a Regional Lottery Claim Center.

When claiming, be prepared to show a driver’s license or other photo ID.

Free ticket prizes may be paid via a quick pick ticket, coupon or cash guarantee in accordance with Lottery regulations.

Meanwhile, a Massachusetts woman won $1 million after spending just $5 on her lottery ticket.

It is a Power ball the player was scheduled for a happy 4th of July, having won an estimated prize of US$139 million.
