POPULAR fragrance store Bath & Body Works is involved in a class action lawsuit over an alleged privacy violation.
Through the sale terms, shoppers who purchased fan-favorite items may be eligible to receive vouchers.

Bath & Body Works is involved in a lawsuit over allegations that it provided customers with receipts that revealed too much payment card information, for Superior Class Shares.
Lingerie retailer Victoria’s Secret is involved in the same deal.
Consumers alleged that the two beauty companies printed receipts showing more than the last five digits of their credit or debit card numbers.
They claimed the receipts put their private information at risk.
The plaintiffs in the lawsuit argued that the error in retailers’ receipts violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act.
The two companies did not admit wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed amount to resolve consumer complaints.
ELIGIBILITY AND PAYMENT
Buyers must meet two requirements to qualify for payment.
First, they must have purchased an item at Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, or PINK between May 10, 2021 and August 8, 2021.
Secondly, customers must have received a printed receipt.
However, a copy of the printed receipt is not required to receive payment.
Those who made a qualifying purchase at Victoria’s Secret, PINK or Bath & Body Works and filed a claim can receive a $15 voucher.
The voucher can be used on a future purchase at the store where you claimed the purchase.
Shoppers who purchased something at each store can receive a voucher for Bath & Body Works and another for Victoria’s Secret.
There is an exception for eligible customers who used a Victoria’s Secret or Bath & Body Works brand credit card.
What is a class action settlement?
Class action lawsuits offer groups of people, or “classes,” a way to come together in court.
These lawsuits are often filed by one or a few people who allege that a company or other entity has harmed a large group of people.
When a lawsuit becomes a class action, it extends to all “class members,” or people who may have similar claims to those who filed the lawsuit.
Companies often settle class actions – offering payment to class members who typically waive their right to pursue legal action by accepting money.
These payment agreements often include statements from the defendant denying wrongdoing. Companies tend to settle class actions to avoid the costs of further litigation.
Pollution, discrimination or false advertising are some examples of what can lead to a class action lawsuit at a company’s door.
They do not need to file a claim to receive a voucher. Instead, a $5 voucher will be automatically awarded to your account.
Consumers who made a purchase without using a Bath & Body Works or Victoria’s Secret brand card and who did not submit a claim form will not receive a voucher.
Class members must submit a complaint form until July 16th to receive your vouchers.
You may be eligible to receive a payment from other open class action settlements.
Tomorrow is the deadline to submit a request for payment of up to $10,000 of a $6 million data breach settlement.
Americans with Social Security numbers can also receive a one-time payment of $4,500.
