WINGS lovers are left in crisis after learning a favorite flavor could be taken off the menu – for good.
Wingstop is a meeting place for chicken lovers looking for a fix of their favorite snacks.
With over 2,000 restaurants around the world, the restaurant has gained thousands of die-hard fans over the years.
So when the chain posted a cryptic message on social media platform X about getting rid of one of its most popular menu items, customers responded.
“Are you going to yell at me if I say the hot honey might be going away?” Wing stop (@wingstop) wrote in a post on Monday with an appetizing photo of golden wings fried and seasoned with honey.
The reaction was immediate.

Many questioned the decision — including an NBA star with more than 3 million X followers.
“What is this!?!? Who do I call to change your mind?” replied Giannis Antetokounmpo (@Giannis_An34) of the Milwaukee Bucks, who compete for Greece in the 2024 Olympics.
“The proposals are useless without hot honey”, commented a second.
Others threatened not to return.
“I will never come back if you do this,” one user wrote, adding several broken heart emojis for effect.
“I wouldn’t scream, I would cry,” commented another.
‘Why would you make my Wednesdays LESS spicy? These are one of the few spicy flavors I can eat without feeling like my head is on fire!’ a third lamented.

NEW CHANGES TO AN OLD FAVORITE
Wingstop has undergone a series of menu changes since its founding in 1994, returning to headlines in 2023 with three major updates.
The company announced last year that it would begin offering its fry seasoning – Pure Mayhem – as a protein option – making a long-standing hack a public possibility.
“In an unprecedented twist that will shock the crowd, Wingstop’s signature sweet and savory French fry seasoning is now available on fan-favorite proteins,” Wingstop wrote in a statement.
The chain also combined two fan favorites to make a tasty new flavor option.
“A mashup of two fan favorites – Hot Honey Rub and Lemon Pepper – delivered just in time, this flavor combines sweet honey and tangy lemon in a dry, fiery blend,” they said.
For die-hard garlic fans, there was also another delight in store.
“Sure to bring tears to fans’ eyes during the tournament’s most emotional moments, this flavor tastes like savory garlic, mixed with bold Cajun seasoning and a buttery Parmesan finish,” Wingstop promised.
Representatives for Wingstop and NBA star Antetokounmpo did not immediately respond to requests for comment from The US Sun.
