A WALMART shopper called the retailer a bully for charging hidden third-party shipping fees when ordering online.

The complaint was written directly to Walmart CEO Doug McMillian in a request for change.

Walmart buyer Kym Barnett shared her letter to McMillian in a publish on Facebook in June.

Barnett claimed he was charged $200 in shipping when he placed an order on the Walmart website.

“To Doug McMillan at Walmart. When people order from Walmart’s website, we shouldn’t be charged for third-party shipping and handling,” Barnett wrote.

“It is unfair to regular loyal customers to be misled like this.

“I order from Walmart frequently and recently placed an order over $200 and was charged $200 for shipping and handling.”

Barnett shamed Walmart for its extra charges, suggesting the founder wouldn’t approve.

“Walmart is increasingly becoming a bully with its rules,” Barnett continued.

“Sam Walton would be embarrassed by how Walmart is being run now.”

SMILE LOAD

The angry Walmart shopper encouraged her followers to share their opinions on the situation in the comments of her post.

“Wow this is crazy,” replied one user.

“This is crazy,” wrote another.

Barnett responded to some of the commenters and explained that he called Walmart shortly after noticing the charge.

She said Walmart told her it was the third-party supplier that charged her the extra shipping cost.

Another shopper added that he was in complete shock at the situation and noted, anyway, that the charge seemed outrageously expensive.

Who is Walmart CEO Doug McMillian?

Doug McMillon President and CEO, Walmart Inc. bio:

Doug McMillon is a long-time trader. He began his career at Walmart in 1984 as an hourly employee, picking orders and unloading trailers in a warehouse. Since then, he has served in senior leadership roles across each business segment.

During his tenure as CEO, which began in 2014, Walmart associates transformed the company into a people-led, technology-driven omnichannel retailer dedicated to helping people save money and live better. It has invested heavily in its people, increasing wages, expanding parental leave, and paying for certificates or degrees for associates seeking educational opportunities. Walmart lowered its prices and embraced technology to improve customer and associate experiences. The company also launched Project Gigaton, a collaboration with suppliers that is expected to reduce, avoid or sequester 1 billion metric tons of emissions worldwide by 2030. It achieved the initial goal years ahead of schedule.

Doug serves on the boards of the Business Roundtable, the Consumer Goods Forum, and the US-China Business Council. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas and an MBA from the University of Tulsa.

“Never heard of this. Shipping and handling from a third party company they have no control over. What did you order?” the user commented.

Barnett explained that she only bought shoes and clothes, which made her even more skeptical about the charge.

She felt that others needed to be informed of the strange situation.

Other shoppers are also fed up with Walmart when it comes to self-checkouts and receipt verifications.

Some Walmarts have self-checkout lanes blocked off for their plus members.

A Walmart buyer threatened to take his business to Target over this.

Another Walmart shopper stated that it is ridiculous to be asked to present a receipt after using self-checkout.

The US Sun has reached out to Walmart and McMillian for comment.
