MACY’S customers can get a one-time distribution of a clearance package without receipts.
The direct payment opportunity comes amid a class action lawsuit against the department store chain.
The plaintiffs in the lawsuit accused Macy’s of false advertising regarding its CVC spreadsheets by Superior Class Shares.
The retailer reportedly promised a much higher thread count than the amount the bedroom essential actually had.
Customers subsequently paid for sets of CVC Sheets, supplied by AQ Textiles, with allegedly inflated thread counts.
Macy’s did not admit any wrongdoing in the case, but agreed to a $10.5 million settlement to resolve the claims and avoid further legal costs.

Payments will be made soon and customers wishing to withdraw money from the pot must meet at least two crucial criteria.
ELIGIBILITY
The deal benefits Macy’s shoppers who purchased CVC sheets supplied by AQ Textiles.
They must also have purchased the sheets within a specific period.
Customers who purchased any number of CVC sheets between November 8, 2013 and March 24, 2023 are eligible.
No proof is needed for claimants to file a settlement distribution claim, but it may affect the money they receive.
PAYMENT
Those who do not have proof of purchase can only receive up to US$2.50 per family, regardless of the number of CVC sheets they supposedly purchased.
Conversely, those with receipts that match Macy’s records can receive $7.50 per unit of CVC sheets purchased within the defined period.
Payment amounts listed are estimates.
Depending on the number of complaint forms submitted, they are subject to proportional changes.
What is a class action settlement?
Class action lawsuits offer groups of people, or “classes,” a way to come together in court.
These lawsuits are often filed by one or a few people who allege that a company or other entity has harmed a large group of people.
When a lawsuit becomes a class action, it extends to all “class members,” or people who may have similar claims to those who filed the lawsuit.
Companies often settle class actions – offering payment to class members who typically waive their right to pursue legal action by accepting money.
These payment agreements often include statements from the defendant denying wrongdoing. Companies tend to settle class actions to avoid the costs of further litigation.
Pollution, discrimination or false advertising are some examples of what can lead to a class action lawsuit at a company’s door.
FILING A COMPLAINT
Most Macy’s customers who already qualify should have been notified by mail or email and received a Notice ID and confirmation code.
They can then go to the settlement website and submit the information to file an electronic complaint.
Those who have not received their Notification ID or Confirmation Code can still complete the complaint form online separately.
The deadline to file a claim was changed after final settlement approval was granted on May 13, 2024.
Applicants have 180 days after the effective date to file, meaning the deadline is now November 9, 2024.
Americans should also remain aware of other direct payment opportunities through settlement packages with looming deadlines.
A $2 million deodorant deal will soon be giving away thousands of people.
Some may even “automatically” qualify for a $780 payment from a recent $1.8 million settlement.
