“Dear Kroger,” the publish started.

“What does it take for ALL new strollers to have the bottom rack like the picture on the right?!”

“My Kroger has bottomless carts and trying to put items in the cart on my weekly shopping trip is horrible.”

The store responded promptly to the concerned customer.

“We are very sorry about this,” the response began.

“We are sharing your feedback with our store management team for review. Have a good day!”

The supermarket chain also asked the buyer the location of his store so that management could resolve the issue.

The buyer isn’t the only one complaining about the new bottomless carts.

“Kroger’s (Poplar and Cleveland) new bottomless shopping carts make it impossible for me to do all my shopping in one trip when I need heavy items like soda, water and kitty litter,” one said. social media of the user.

“The only reason I stayed with Kroger during its decline over the past two years was its convenient location, but if I can’t do all my shopping in one trip, it’s no longer convenient.”

‘Price is driving up your loyal customers,’ Kroger shopper shouts after finding exact same item at Target for $4.50 less

The bottomless carts are part of an effort to reduce crime.

To prevent theft, many large retailers are implementing similar measures.

BAGS CONTROVERSY

Kroger recently came under fire from some customers after a customer accused the store of misrepresenting their bags.

@kroger I’m begging you to bring back the handles on your paper bags,” said one customer posted in X.

“I don’t want to have to walk across town to another supermarket anymore.”

The company responded to the buyer in the same way as it responded to the one who asked to adjust the new strollers.

“Hello! Thank you for bringing this to our attention,” the company said.

“We want to investigate this. Please send us a DM and provide the location of the store you are referring to and the number of your rewards card or ALT ID that you used at checkout.”

The company also requested the buyer’s name and email.

Anti-theft measures implemented by retailers

Retailers in the US and Canada have implemented strategies designed to combat theft. The US Sun has compiled a list of measures that have been implemented in stores.

  • Lock items in cabinets.
  • Safety stakes.
  • Security cameras.
  • Signs warning about the impact of theft.
  • Receipt scanners.
  • Receipt checks.
  • Carts with locking technology

Kroger shoppers previously posted on Reddit debating whether the chain ever had bags with handles.

“For something like last year (maybe longer), ALL paper bags had NO handles,” a customer posted on the Kroger subreddit.

“Is this similar to Kroger locations?”

“How inept a management team must Kroger have to fuck with their customers like that?”

Dozens of shoppers commented below the post, arguing different reasons why Kroger no longer has handles on its bags and whether the chain’s bags ever existed.

“We had handles on our Kroger paper bags from 2016 to 2018. Then they were discontinued,” wrote one customer.

“I still have one somewhere.”

A buyer responded to the post, speculating that it could just be an option to purchase.

“I don’t think they’ve been discontinued, but I’m pretty sure it’s a purchasing option that most buyers don’t choose because of the cost of the store. We ‘accidentally’ got some once.”
