The kit comes with 150 portions of easy-to-prepare meals that only require water to prepare.

Readywise, the company that makes the kits, sells long-term survival foods.

“This variety isn’t just a temporary solution — it’s a long-term solution,” Costco said on its website.

For $2,999, buyers can get 5,400 servings of Emergency food pallet with ultimate variety by Readywise.

“It’s a tangible expression of your dedication to ensuring you and your loved ones are well taken care of, no matter what lies ahead.”

The kits went viral on social media, where many believed the products were new, but Costco has been selling Readywise kits since at least 2021.

In fact, Costco sold emergency food kits as early as 2008, according to Utah Preparatoryersa blog for “preparation-minded people.”

One archived version of Costco website shows that the company has been selling emergency food kits since at least 2012.

“I mean by that inflationMaybe I’ll buy them for normal life”, he wrote a person on Instagram.

“I like that someone thought to consider our desire for variety during the apocalypse” wrote another person.

A third person found them perfect for college apartment life.

Another person said they would renew their Costco membership “because if a apocalypse it turns out I’m going to Costco. There’s no way a zombie is a member.”

One person said they had a kit in their pantry for 10 years after their parents gave it to them.

“We live in Houston, so this is an alternative hurricane food supply,” they wrote.

“I know my parents got buckets as gifts from the people they bought their houses from.”

GOLD RUSH

Many people have prepared for the Last Judgment, including millionaires and other elites like Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman.

Jonathan Rose, CEO of Genesis Gold Group in Beverly Hills, California, told The US Sun that more and more people are buying and accumulating gold for a variety of reasons.

Readywise Emergency Meal Kits

A standard emergency kit comes with 150 servings of freeze-dried food.

Meals may include:

  • Pasta Alfredo
  • pasta with cheese
  • Teriyaki Rice
  • Creamy pasta and vegetables
  • Potato pie
  • Tomato and basil soup with pasta
  • Chicken noodle soup
  • Brown Sugar and Maple Multigrain
  • Apple and cinnamon cereal

Also included:

  • crunchy granola
  • White rice
  • Vanilla pudding
  • Alternative to whey milk
  • orange juice

“You are reading all these stories and these millionaires we’re buying gold and building bunkers and you think ‘What the hell is going on’ and it’s a trend that everyone is doing,” he said.

He explained that there is concern about the valuation of the dollar and fears of an economic collapse.

“I think these people are realizing that, hey, we don’t have a crystal ball per se, but we have a good roadmap and they’re looking at the problems that the economy is facing right now,” Rose said.

“Whether they’re looking at the devaluation of the dollar or these things called brick nations, which are countries that come together to create their own currency backed by gold.

“And with the dollar losing value, there is just the general economic concern of combating inflation and that’s why many people will move to a safe haven.”
