A SHOPPER has hit out at a thrift store after it sold old clothes for double the original price, saying even Walmart was cheaper.

Many buyers complained that the economic environment had become too expensive, with prices soaring.

One person took to Facebook after making a shocking discovery at their local store.

“Sometimes it’s cheaper to buy at Walmart or Ross,” Christine Reaves said.

She shared a photo of a swimsuit she found at the Eagle Rock Thrift Store that had a tag for $19.96.

“I came across this the other day and thought I would share it with you all,” Reaves continued.

The same swimsuit had three other tags listed at $9.99, $9 and $3.

“I think it’s wrong for these stores to overprice items that are given to them for free,” Reaves said.

“But if they’re going to be like this, at least remove the original price tags!!”

The post received more than 20 comments from people just as upset as Reaves.

“Yeah I hate it when they do that,” one person wrote.

“These items should be marked up at least a little above garage sale prices,” another person wrote.

“No used items should be higher. I’d rather buy them new than this.”

One person criticized the local Goodwill, describing it as “absolutely ridiculous.”

“I literally will not shop at that store,” they wrote.

“I’m not going to pay three, four or five dollars for a paperback that’s the oldest.”

However, one person said the thrift store, Eagle Rock, needs to raise money for your charity while also paying bills and employees.

“It may be priced appropriately,” they wrote.

Valuable, cost-effective discoveries revealed

Here are some of the best thrift store finds:

“I will continue to pay where I know they are doing what they say, compared to others who claim to help and don’t.”

Another shopper agreed, praising the store for its organization and the kindness of the staff.

“I prefer to give a little more, sometimes I count it in my head as a donation with a bonus in goods for myself or someone in my household.”

The US Sun has reached out to Eagle Rock for comment.

However, the thrift store seemed to sell it for almost $20
