A KROGER customer is calling out the store for allegedly charging higher prices than the original listed price.

The shopper is fed up with the supermarket chain’s seemingly inconsistent prices.

“I feel like this is a complaint from an elderly person, but nothing irritates me more than when Kroger prices are listed one way and then charges another, higher price,” the customer posted on Facebook.

“I mean, I don’t get mad about anything, but this really bothers me on a different level.

“You can all call me a grumpy old man if necessary,” the post concluded.

The post received a lot of attention from other Facebook users, with many agreeing with the buyer’s claim.

“Budgets are tight and if the labels are not accurate, it hurts other bills,” commented one user.

“Most workers are making money, but these days it’s much more than a coin on top of everything you pay.

“I don’t know… it’s hard here.”

One commenter noted that they have also seen this issue in many other retail stores.

“I discovered this in many stores,” the shopper wrote.

“I think the prices go up so quickly that they can’t keep up with the labeling.”

Walmart is facing a class action lawsuit after a customer pointed out the store’s alleged misleading pricing.

In 2022, the plaintiff alleged that more than a dozen items he purchased at a Walmart in Illinois were priced 15% higher at checkout than the store’s actual prices, a CW affiliate. WSAZ reported.

The lawsuit alleged that stores in other states had comparable discrepancies.

A judge dismissed the case last year, but a federal appeals court reversed the lower court’s decision, allowing customers to try to prove that the store violated consumer protection laws.

In a Facebook post about the lawsuit, customers also accused Kroger of violating consumer protection laws.

“Kroger is definitely known for that. If you don’t pay attention to your receipt, you’re definitely overpaying,” wrote one Kroger customer.

“I had to go back inside a few times to get it fixed.”

“If you expect it to arrive at the cash register as it should, don’t count on it,” the customer continued.

“It’s hard to say how many people paid double/triple for being robbed. Just because they trust the company.”

“You shouldn’t have to look at every detail when you’re checking out. Unfortunately you do this.

What to do if you are overwhelmed

If you’re overcharged at a retailer, there are a few ways you can get your money back.

If you notice that you have been charged more than the advertised or published price, inform an employee or manager.

Be sure to keep your receipt to show the price difference.

As a buyer, you are entitled to the lowest advertised, published or quoted price offered by the store.

If you are charged more than the advertised, posted or quoted price, inform the seller immediately. If the seller cannot help, speak to the manager.

Stores must honor the published price, even if the price has expired.

You can also dispute charges with your bank if you notice something suspicious on your statement.
