Kroger closes four clinics as the chain stops offering important health services — but refuses to give reasons for the closures

GROCERY STORE chain Kroger announced it would close four of its small clinics.

The network designed outpatient clinics to treat common illnesses and minor injuries, provide preventive care, and be affordable and accessible.

Kroger announced that four clinics in Virginia would close on Friday, but gave no indication why.

There are 225 Little Clinics in Kroger stores across the country, however, these four are the only ones that are closing.

In a statement to the Richmond Times DispatchKroger said it was a “difficult decision” to close the four locations.

A Kroger representative called this a business decision based on many factors and referred to the initial statement.

It is unclear whether or not the files will be moved to a new location.

The US Sun has reached out to Kroger for comment.

The shutdown comes shortly after the chain announced it was changing its BOGO policy.

Many buyers stated that now, to close the deal, two items are needed.

“Attention: Kroger has changed their BOGO policy,” one shopper wrote in a Facebook post.

“I need to buy two to get a discount.”

“Most other stores don’t require this. I hate it,” she added.

The frustrated customer continued to note that she would no longer go to her nearest Kroger because of the policy change.

Other frustrated customers supported the user story.

“I just had that experience!” exclaimed someone else.

“I saw BOGO Mars ice cream bars. I tried to buy just one. The total price went up.”

“I asked a cashier who confirmed that you should buy 2”, they commented.

Kroger responded to the complaints, promising Jill and other customers that their concerns would be passed on to internal teams “for review.”

The retailer also emphasized its ongoing efforts to save customers money through coupons and other perks.

“We offer our customers many ways to save, including digital coupons, cash back offers, our many sales/promotions, as well as fuel points to save at the pump,” noted Kroger.
