Lottery warning: Winning $1.13 billion jackpot still unclaimed – time is ticking for mystery winner to come forward

A lucky New Jersey resident has a limited time to cash in his lottery ticket and become a billionaire.

The ticket was purchased in Neptune, New Jersey, but the lucky winner has yet to claim the $1.13 billion prize.

O Mega Millions Lottery revealed that the winning ticket was sold at a ShopRite supermarket on Route 66 in Neptune Township.

The ticket matched all six numbers in the Tuesday, March 26, Mega Millions drawing.

The numbers were revealed: 7, 11, 22, 29 and 38, with the golden Mega Ball 4.

The amount is the largest sum ever distributed in the Garden State and the fifth largest in U.S. history.

Since selling the winning ticket, the Neptune Township ShopRite has received a $300,000 bonus from the New Jersey Lottery.

ShopRite stated that the winner has one year to claim their winnings.

The US Sun reached out to the New Jersey Lottery for comment but did not immediately hear back.

UNCLAIMED MONEY

This is not the first huge amount that has gone unclaimed.

According to Washington State Lotterya lucky lottery ticket was sold at the Muckleshoot Casino Resort in Auburn, Washington, about 27 miles from Seattle.

The winner received a prize of US$1.3 million.

Robert Dearstine, executive director of marketing at Muckleshoot Casino Resort, said employees were thrilled to learn they sold the winning ticket.

“When we found out that we had sold the winning ticket and were receiving a bonus, we were absolutely thrilled. We are already planning how we will celebrate as a team,” he told lottery officials.

“We are even more excited for the lucky player who will take home this sizable win. It’s such a special moment that could change someone’s life for the better.”

Muckleshoot Casino Resort has had substantial winnings in the past.

In June, the casino sold two second-prize lottery tickets, each worth $1,000.

The winning numbers were: 11-18-26-33-38 and 46.

Meanwhile, in Colorado, two mystery Powerball tickets from March or April have yet to be redeemed.

The first, drawn on March 30, is worth $150,000 and was purchased at a Circle K in Highlands Ranch, about 15 miles south of downtown Denver.

Here are the winning numbers to check: 12-13-33-50-52 and Powerball 23.

The second prize, worth $50,000, was purchased at a 7-Eleven store in Aurora, about 10 to 15 miles from Denver.

The numbers, drawn on April 10, were 6, 7, 12, 24, 36 and Powerball 15.
