AMERICANS voted for the top 10 fast food chains, and a surprising taco restaurant took first place.
The first place most people think of when you suggest getting drive-thru tacos is Taco Bell.
It seems USA Today readers would disagree after voting Del Taco as the number one fast-food restaurant in the country.
The exit released a list of the 10 best fast food chains in the country voted by readers.
The popular Mexican restaurant only has 594 locations, mostly on the West Coast.
Fans love classic tacos, burritos and quesadillas, as well as unconventional menu items like burgers, chicken fingers and cheese fries.
Del Taco has a dedicated breakfast menu and several vegan and vegetarian options.
Taco Bell made the list, coming in seventh place.
UNTASTY OPTIONS
Fast-food fans questioned how any of these chains were better than Chick-fil-A, which held the number one position for nine years.
This year, it came in third place and, to make matters worse, KFC came in second place.
“I can’t take it seriously. KFC would have to be free for me to eat it, and Del Taco is a very small chain with limited reach,” commented Ethan David in a Facebook post.
“Chick-fil-A instead of Del Taco and KFC every time! No contest,” wrote another customer.
However, some customers said they have noticed a recent decline in service at Chick-fil-A.
“The quality has gone down at my Chick-fil-A. They added a mobile ordering section and what used to be really fast is now hell of a lot slower. I rarely go there,” commented one customer.
Another customer said the same thing happened at the local restaurant.
“The moving strip is a joke. You end up waiting in the normal drive-through lane and get stuck behind other people,” they added.
IN GOOD MOOD
Chick-fil-A may be back on its fans’ side with the return of digital game Code Moo.
Customers can download the app to participate in the “secret racing car mission” version of Code Moo from July 22 to August 17.
