“Absolutely enraged,” she said in her post.

“Being held hostage by a late Target UPS delivery with no explanation or apology,” she continued.

“It’s already a day late,” McManus complained.

“So much for [Target] Circle.”

In April, Target to get togethercompanies like Walmart and Amazon launching a paid membership program called Target Circle 360.

Target already operates its free Circle program, which offers shoppers a variety of offers and rewards, such as 1% cash back on all purchases made in-store or online.

What is Target Circle 360?

In April, Target launched its first paid membership program, Target Circle 360.

For $99 per year, members have access to the following benefits:

  • Unlimited, free same-day delivery on orders over $35
  • Another 30 days to return your items
  • Free two-day shipping on 100,000 items
  • 5% discount in store and online
  • Automatic offers and exclusive benefits for partners

But the paid membership, which McManus is referring to, offers rewards and perks like unlimited free same-day delivery on orders over $35 in just one hour and free two-day shipping.

Not to mention, subscribers have access to Shipt Marketplace, which offers same-day delivery from over 100 retailers nationwide.

While some customers love the new program and its offerings, others, like McManus, have their share of complaints.

“Target circle sucks,” said one customer on X.

‘I’m done,’ shouts target shopper after discovering cheap essentials are being held by security in attempt to combat thieves

“Target Circle is a scam,” declared another customer.

“I could spend $500 at Target and only get $2 back in Target Circle rewards,” said another shopper.

“Target has the worst points system ever. Target circle is a scam,” said another person.

But despite some customer complaints, the paid subscription model has proven to work for companies like Walmart and Amazon, with services like Walmart+ and Amazon Prime.

In 2005, Amazon Prime launched and has since grown to more than 200 million subscribers, generating billions of dollars a year for the retailer.

For $14.99 per month, Amazon customers can enjoy perks like free delivery, Prime Video, discounts at Whole Foods and more.

Walmart+, on the other hand, launched in 2020 and has grown to more than 60 million subscribers since then.

The cost is slightly lower than Amazon’s at $12.95 per month.

Walmart+ offers free delivery, discounts on fuel and prescriptions, and even comes with an additional Paramount+ subscription.

But for dissatisfied Target Circle customers who feel like they’re not getting the same types of benefits and savings as Amazon and Walmart shoppers, a popular benefit revealed by a manager could help them save.

Customer complaints during purchases

Customers have mainly complained about these issues while shopping in stores:

  • Items locked behind glass
  • Self-checkout limitations and terminations
  • Full reliance on self-checkout in some locations
  • Receipt checks
  • Lack of available customers in stores
  • Limited payment slots and cashiers
