A WALMART customer is outraged after being refused entry to the store after arriving 15 minutes before closing time.
The dissatisfied buyer expressed his complaints to companies and on social media.
In July 2024, Scott Bogulski stated on Facebook that he was denied entry to the Forsyth, Georgia Walmart when he arrived at 10:45 pm – 15 minutes before closing – after “driving 20 minutes to get there.”
He said in publish“Per company, if the store is advertised as open until 11, they must allow people in until 11.”
Bogulski then stated that although a store employee named Bundy says the policy allows them to deny people entry, the woman from the company he spoke with said that is false.
“She took the complaint and said she has escalated it to a higher level, and a return call will come at some point.”
Bogulski said he was told that Bundy is “the older man” who checks receipts at the door and that Karen is the manager “who told Bundy he was enforcing good policy.”
Many customers defended Walmart and Bundy in the comments.
Emily Page said it’s “crazy” that Bogulski is “still mad about it.”
She continued, “Dennis the store manager won’t do anything about it, I’m sure he gave him a pat on the back saying ‘hell yeah thanks for reducing overtime’ lmao.”
Carrie Penfield Johnson then called Bundy “the nicest man” who “makes us feel so welcome every time we go to Walmart.”
She continued: “I hope this doesn’t fall on him.”
Christine Thayer said stores would not deny entry if customers “respected store closing times more.”
She then called out people who arrive at the store five minutes before closing and continue shopping after hours.
“This causes store employees to come in beyond their scheduled hours, which means they will have to cut payroll at the end of the week to make up for this,” she continued.
“So, because payroll had to be cut, customers will complain because there aren’t enough people working.”
Walmart is typically open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
However, hours may vary by location, so shoppers should check with their local store.

The retailer outlines the new system to be implemented in a few easy steps:
- Customers first need to download the Walmart app on their phone with location access enabled.
- On the Store Mode home page, buyers must click on the Scan and Go option.
- Customers can scan each item and place them in their carts as they shop.
- At the end, they will be asked to view their cart to ensure the quantity in the app matches the quantity in their cart.
- Shoppers will press “Check Out” and head to a self-checkout kiosk.
- They will be asked to scan the QR code provided at the cash register and confirm their payment method.
- Once the transaction is complete, shoppers can leave the store without any worries.
RECEIVING ANGER
In the first publish regarding his issue with Walmart, he highlighted the retailer’s controversial receipt verification measures.
“If Walmart stops allowing customers to arrive 15 minutes before closing to make it more convenient for them… It’s more convenient for me to go straight to the receipt requester too,” he wrote.
Other customers also complained about the policy in the comments.
“Just turn it in and keep moving,” wrote Maranda Bailey.
A shopper named Ronald commented, “I’ve been past them.”
Felecia Smith said Walmart employees don’t ask for her receipt unless she has an unbagged item.
“Sometimes I was smart and put a bag on the item. I was never bothered,” she continued.
The retail company faced widespread backlash for its cash receipt checks.
Some buyers cited the law to avoid showing their receipts.
Another customer questioned why the retail giant uses self-checkout if people need to show their receipts.
