TACO Bell will soon release its own Stanley Cup and customers will be able to get their hands on it next month.

However, some fans have criticized Baja Blast’s new anniversary cup for lacking the vibe that the popular drink has.

Mountain Dew created tropical lime-flavored Baja Blast exclusively for Taco Bell in 2004.

In honor of the iconic drink’s 20th anniversary, or “Bajaversary,” the fast food chain is celebrating with the release of a new Stanley Cup.

The new cup is off-white with “20th Bajaversary” written in turquoise to match the Baja Blast drink.

“We are extremely proud of the iconic and synonymous duo that Taco Bell and BAJA BLAST have become,” said Taylor Montgomery, chief marketing officer at Taco Bell.

“We’re celebrating this incredible milestone as much as our die-hard Baja fans and can’t wait to share even more epic experiences, innovations and rewards.”

Taco Bell Rewards members will have the opportunity to win one of the limited-edition cups on August 13th at 2pm PST on the Taco Bell app.

The first 20 fast fooders to redeem one of the cups will receive free Baja Blast for a year.

Many fans are excited about the drop, with one Facebook user saying “Can’t wait for this to happen” and another writing “Ok bet”.

Others aren’t as excited about the new cup’s coloring, wanting it to match the Baja Blast’s iconic color.

“It would have been nice to have the cup in the Baja Blast color. Being a boring cream color isn’t cute haha,” said a Taco Bell fan.

The cup is dull compared to the Baja Blast drink, as well as a Vibrant purple Stanley Cup distributed to Taco Bell employees.

The cup features the Taco Bell logo and the slogan “Live Mas” and was given to employees as a reward for exceptional service.

MORE BAJA FESTIVITIES

To further celebrate Baja Blast’s 20th anniversary, Taco Bell is offering fans two deals.

On July 29 only, fast foodies can score a free Baja Blast medium drink or Baja Blast regular freeze at participating Taco Bell locations or on the app.

Taco Bell’s Baja Blast

Taco Bell’s Baja Blast is a tropical lime-flavored soda with a basic turquoise color.

The drink was created exclusively for Taco Bell in 2004 by PepsiCo, owner of Mountain Dew.

The launch of Baja Blast stood out as one of the first examples of a restaurant offering an exclusive soda, with the goal of increasing soda sales.

The Baja Blast brand has expanded to include new flavors, alcoholic and energy drinks, and merchandise.

The name of the drink comes from the Mexican state of Baja California.

The fast food chain also offers a $1 Happier Hour every day from 2pm to 5pm local time, during which customers can purchase a $1 medium Baja Blast or a regular Baja Blast freeze.

This offer runs from July 29th until the end of the year.

In honor of the popular drink, Taco Bell and Mountain Dew plan to add more Baja Blast-inspired items to the chain’s menu.

Starting September 3, a Baja Blast-flavored gelato will debut on Taco Bell menus in the U.S. for a limited time.

Taco Bell Rewards members will be able to purchase the tropical lime-flavored gelato on the chain’s app.

The fast food restaurant also announced plans to launch a Baja Blast pie later this year.

In other fast food news, Chipotle’s CEO promised to address portion sizes after customers criticized the chain for “cutting corners.”

Additionally, a Chick-fil-A rival plans to make a change to hundreds of drive-thrus and promises it will “rival human employees.”
