AN APOCALYPSE may not happen anytime soon, but you can never be too prepared.
Costco is helping all survivors and doomsday preppers by selling a bucket of emergency food for the viral TikTok apocalypse.

The wholesaler, known for its hot dogs and countless samples, is helping its customers prepare for disaster with a $79.99 premium. emergency preparedness bucket.
The Ready Wise bucket is said to last 25 years and contain 150 servings of freeze-dried food, giving Costco members a “reliable source of sustenance.”
The bucket’s online description says: “In a world where unpredictability has become a constant, our assortment plays a vital role in emergency preparedness.”
“These are the times when having a reliable source of livelihood becomes a game changer.”
The survival bucket includes various items such as noodles, rice, pudding and more.
“By simply adding water, these carefully crafted meals transform into satisfying dishes in just minutes.
“This convenience is not just about simplicity; it’s about maintaining a sense of normalcy when the world around you may seem anything but normal.”
Unfortunately, non-Costco members don’t have access to this “revolutionary” survival bucket, but there’s no need to worry.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has laid out everything you need to make your own emergency survival kit.
“FEMA encourages people to plan ahead and stock up on canned foods, dry mixes and other staple foods that do not require refrigeration, cooking, water or special preparation,” said Jayce Genco, FEMA deputy press secretary. ABC News.
“Be sure to include a manual can opener and eating utensils.
“Consider the following when preparing your emergency food supplies: store at least a multi-day supply of nonperishable foods, choose the foods your family will consume, and remember any special dietary needs.”
The agency has laid out exactly what you need to put in your kit, and you can easily make one for just $20 more.
When it comes to food and water, FEMA advises all emergency preparedness kits to include several gallons of water and several days of non-perishable food.
FEMA Recommended Emergency Kit Items
If you want to make your own emergency preparedness kit, you will need to obtain these items:
- Water (one gallon per person, per day, for several days, for drinking and sanitation)
- Food (at least a multi-day supply of non-perishable food)
- Battery or hand crank powered radio and a NOAA weather radio with tone alert
- Flashlight
- First aid kit
- Extra batteries
- Whistle (to signal for help)
- Dust mask (to help filter contaminated air)
- Plastic sheets, scissors and tape (to secure in place)
- Baby wipes, trash bags, and plastic ties (for personal hygiene)
- Wrench or pliers (to disconnect utilities)
- Manual can opener (for food)
- Local maps
On Amazon, buyers can find 72-hour food supply from Ready Wisewhich includes freeze-dried meals and snacks, for just $29.
Leaving aside food and water, FEMA also listed a battery-powered radio, a flashlight and extra batteries as essential emergency kit items.
Walmart customers can easily find a battery powered radio for $11, one LED lantern for $2 and extra batteries for $9, bringing the total for the kit so far to $52.
Of course, any good survival kit includes a first aid kit, and if you’re not looking for anything fancy, you can buy a first aid kit. First aid kit with 76 pieces on Amazon for $3.
To help with the shelter, FEMA recommends purchasing plastic tarps, scissors and tape, which can be purchased on Amazon for $8.
Other suggested items include a dust mask, wrench, baby wipes, trash bags, maps, and a manual can opener, adding another $25 to your shopping cart.
Lastly, even the end of the world requires a fully charged phone, so you should buy a phone charger that can add a minimum of $10 to your cart.
All of the added FEMA-approved items will cost a total of approximately $99, which isn’t a bad price to pay to prepare for the end of the world.
Costco Membership Sharing Guidelines
Costco has strict rules for subscription usage that shoppers must follow and has been cracking down on violators in recent years.
- Core Member Usage: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. It is not allowed to share it for purchases, as the photo on the card must correspond to the person using it.
- Domestic Card: Each Prime Member can add one free Household Cardholder who lives at the same address. That person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
- Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per Costco visit. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by a member.
- Authorized cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who does not reside at your address. They will receive their own card and will be able to make purchases independently.
