A COSTCO buyer was left searching for answers after facing a huge overload.
The customer insisted he was overcharged, despite the grocery chain claiming otherwise.

The Costco member asked social media users if they had ever faced the same problem.
On a December 2023 Facebook publishthe anonymous buyer wrote: “Has anyone been overcharged for an item and when emailed was told that was the actual price?
“The item I purchased had a $9.99 plate and was charged $27.00, so it is a substantial additional cost.
“Has anyone seen this happen?”
Many customers suggested that the buyer take photos of the price signs.
“Did you take a photo? Was the item in the right place?” Yvonne Horne wrote.
“When it first opened, I always took photos when an item was on sale to show at the register,” Julie Burgin said, in part.
“I’ve done this a few times. Now I take pictures. So if [it] scans wrong I show them. I just go to [the] call center for reimbursement,” commented West Chantelle.
The original buyer then wrote: “Unfortunately, I only noticed it at home, read the receipt and emailed immediately.
They then revealed that they would speak to an employee the next time they visited the retailer.
“I understand that I took photos that I didn’t take, but surely buyers from such a large company shouldn’t have to do that,” the customer continued.
US Sun has reached out to Costco for comment.
COSTCO COMPLAINTS
Costco has received backlash from customers for several issues.
Some complained about the retailer’s new shopping carts.
“I think they are a little harder to drive as they are a little blocked,” wrote one person on Reddit wire where some praised the carts.
Costco Membership Sharing Guidelines
Costco has strict rules for subscription usage that shoppers must follow and has been cracking down on violators in recent years.
- Core Member Usage: Only the primary cardholder can use this Costco membership card. It is not allowed to share it for purchases, as the photo on the card must correspond to the person using it.
- Domestic Card: Each Prime Member can add one free Household Cardholder who lives at the same address. That person will receive their own membership card and can shop at Costco independently.
- Guest Policy: Members can bring up to two guests per Costco visit. However, only the member can make purchases. Guests must be accompanied by a member.
- Authorized cardholder: For an additional fee, you can add an authorized cardholder, such as a family member or friend, who does not reside at your address. They will receive their own card and will be able to make purchases independently.

Another buyer criticized the new car’s seat height.
“I’m pregnant and I have a son,” she wrote.
“It’s very difficult to put her in the seat.”
Others closed the long checkout lines at grocery stores.
“Your company creates these situations, these human traffic jams just to motivate people to make impulse purchases,” one shopper wrote in a Facebook post.
“They say time is money and my time is all I have and I’m tired of you wasting it, I just want my money back and I’ll shop somewhere else.”
