SEPHORA shoppers were furious with the beauty retailer’s price hike after one customer spent $275 for just four items.

Several buyers took to social media to denounce the brand for its high prices and take its points system to customers.

The Beauty Insider Program is a free rewards system for shoppers in the US and Canada that allows them to earn points on all their purchases.

When customers earn enough points, they can redeem them for rewards, which are typically product samples, bundles, or luxury experiences.

Shoppers can store and access their points in the “beauty bank,” according to Sephora website.

However, some shoppers have criticized the retailer for the points system, saying it is difficult to accumulate points in exchange for rewards.

One shopper revealed she spent hundreds at her local store but only bought four things.

“I know we’re used to this, but someone really needs to do something about these prices,” he wrote User X Mell.

“And their points system sucks.”

Another shopper told a similar story, saying she only had three items in your cart with a total of $120.

A third he wrote: “The way two things Sephora It’s $300.”

A woman named Simone went on a multi-tweet rant about Sephora and Ulta, saying they’re not letting customers walk away with things.

“The way I have to argue with people so I can pat them and walk away without signing up for something extra,” she wrote.

She shared an incident in Sephora in June, claiming that employees were “confused” that she was not enrolled in the points system.

“They asked me if I wanted to sign up and I said no,” Simone wrote.

“They said I would lose these ‘points’ and I was fine with that.”

According to Simone, the workers asked if anyone could use the points she earned from her purchase, but were told she just wanted to buy her items and leave.

Beauty Insider Rewards Program

The Beauty Insider Program is a free rewards program offered by Sephora that allows shoppers to earn points based on purchases they make.

For every US or Canadian dollar a shopper spends, members will earn one Beauty Insider point.

Bonus points can be earned from time to time through bonus point events.

There are different levels in the program: Very Important Beauty Insider and Rouge Status.

To achieve VIB status, members need to spend $350 per year on Sephora products.

To achieve Rogue status, members need to spend $1,000 per year.

Points can be redeemed to earn rewards such as luxury product samples or experiences based on the corresponding number of points accumulated in a shopper’s Beauty Bank.

VIB and Rouge members have access to exclusive rewards like full-size merchandise, and Rogue members have access to a Rogue reward worth $100.

“Why does the cashier next register and try to embarrass me about it?”

She said no one in her store tried to sell her what was actually available in the store.

“They were simply confused by the fact that I didn’t already have it and didn’t want or care about it,” Simone wrote.

“Luckily, I wasn’t alone that day, I would have had TIME.”

The US Sun reached out to Sephora to comment.
