IF YOU’RE looking for a new streaming platform to access free content, then you’re in luck.
Today, it can be very expensive to stream your favorite TV shows and movies.
Fortunately, there are several free (and legal) options that can save you money every month.
These free platforms offer content in exchange for occasional advertisements.
They are known as free ad-supported streaming services (FAST).
You can check out some of the most popular services – like Roku, Tubi and Crackle.
But you might not know that The CW, one of the most popular cable networks, has its own streaming service.
The C.W.
The CW is an American commercial television network that has produced hit shows such as Charmed (the reboot), Roswell and Legacies.
It also airs popular shows like Riverdale, Supernatural, and Dynasty.
However, if you don’t have cable TV, you may be wondering how you can watch these shows.
Thanks to the CW app and streaming platform, you can access many episodes and seasons of your favorite shows for free.
You can stream in a web browser or install the app on your smart TV or streaming device like Amazon Fire Stick or Roku.
What’s more, for shows airing live on the broadcast network, you can watch new episodes the next day on the app.
Although it’s important to note that you can only stream the most recent five episodes of the TV series.
Additionally, there is a decent selection of movies and sporting events that you can access.
The CW is just the latest in a long line of channels that have launched their own streaming services/apps.
The Roku Channel – what you need to know
Here’s the summary…
The Roku Channel is a streaming app available on multiple devices.
It offers more than 400 live TV channels.
And it promises more than 80,000 movies and TV shows on demand.

Roku notes that the app is only available in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It’s also available in Mexico, but only on Roku devices.
HBO, Disney, NBC and others have also launched streaming platforms in recent years.
OTHER PLATFORMS
The CW isn’t the only ad-supported free streaming service — we’ve shared two others below.
FREE STREAMING
Launched just a year ago, Freesteam is Sling TV’s free, ad-supported streaming platform.
Since launching in February 2023, Freestream has quickly grown to over 500 channels.
CRACKLE
Another option to check out free streaming is Crackle.
This free service offers over 3,500 movies that you can watch anytime.
The app was originally called Grouper, but was purchased by Sony in 2006 and renamed Crackle.
