Samsung Secret Mode offers instant phone battery life boost and official guide reveals two ways to activate it

SAMSUNG has created a handy way to help customers extend the battery life of their phones – and not everyone knows about it.

The practical mode, called Light Performance, was launched in 2022 with the aim of increasing heat generation and battery life.

It is also said to adjust processing speed to extend battery life, according to Samsung Support Page.

When operating in Light Performance, the company boasts that “the device can use less performance power compared to normal mode.”

Samsung claims this doesn’t seriously affect calling, streaming, or internet browsing.

According to the website, Light mode is only available on select models from the retailer, including the Z series and S series models released after the Galaxy Z Flip4, Z Fold4, and S23.

But the brand points out that when playing on a cell phone, the battery saving mode will be automatically deactivated.

To activate Light Performance mode, users must go to the phone’s settings tab and select battery and device care.

After that they can select battery and more battery settings.

Once on the page, they can tap the performance profile and select light.

After enabling the setting, users can easily turn the function on and off using the quick settings panel.

This isn’t the first energy-saving tip the brand has given.

Samsung also revealed that its devices would work better if users left 20% of their phone’s storage empty.

Dubbed the “20% rule,” Samsung users can check how much storage they are consuming by going back to the Battery and Device Care tab.

This time, click on the Storage tab and click on the “Optimize Now” button.

Once users select the option, they should see a white screen that cycles through a checklist of items.

Samsung’s video also gives users another way to ensure their device is running at full speed.

According to the company, another way to free up storage is to uninstall apps by long-pressing them and following the instructions to uninstall the apps.
