Check your YouTube now as Google rolls out a surprise free account upgrade – three checks reveal if you’re eligible

GOOGLE is updating picture quality for YouTube TV users – and it may have already reached your account.

The company is gradually rolling out an “enhanced” preview to users.

Google began rolling out the new 1080p Enhanced mode for YouTube TV earlier this year.

But it soon disappeared soon after appearing to users.

Now the option is appearing again in accounts, and

The first two checks to do are that you have an active YouTube TV subscription and a device with a Full HD/1080p display.

And thirdly, you’ll want to turn on Stats For Nerds.

Just play a video, go to controls, choose More, select the bug and you can see it at the top of the screen.

You should look for “412” in the codec information part of the readout.

This means you get the improved bitrate (or image quality) associated with 1080p Enhanced.

If you don’t see it, the update may not have been implemented on your device.

On Tuesday, users flocked to Reddit to reveal that they had received the update.

“The improved setting just appeared,” said a YouTube TV fan in a Reddit thread.

“So I got the enhanced 1080/720 settings. Well, sort of. It’s on my parents’ account and they live with me. I want to believe that I’ll be the next lol.”

I only bought it last night on my Apple TV, not my Rokus.

One said: “Same here on the LG TV YTTV app,” while another added: “Mine got in too!

And one wrote: “I only bought it last night on my Apple TV, not my Rokus.”

If you want to check, you can see it under Image Quality Settings.

It should be the highest option available to users currently.

However, you may not see the feature if it has not yet been implemented in your account.

The US Sun has asked Google for comment on the release and will update this story with any response.
