Anyone who has televisions from those years that broadcast Fubo will no longer be able to access the app.

Fubo updated its supported devices last week to only Samsung Smart TVs purchased during or after 2017.

Anyone who has an Amazon Fire, Android or Google TV will be able to access the Fubo app regardless of the year the device was manufactured.

Apple TV owners can access the Fubo app if they have a fourth-generation model or higher.

Those with a Hisense VIDAA smart television must own a model manufactured during or after 2020 to access the app, while LG TVs manufactured in 2018 or later are supported by the Fubo app.

Vizio SmartCast TVs manufactured during or after 2016 are also compatible with the Fubo app.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE IMPACTED

If you have a Samsung TV made in 2015 or 2016 and use the Fubo app to live stream, don’t panic.

Streaming players can still support the Fubo app even if your television doesn’t support it.

Affected customers may use players such as Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV or Google TV and will be able to access their Fubo accounts through them.

FREE FUBO?

Former Fubo subscribers can access 170 free, ad-supported channels through Fubo Free.

Fubo announced a few weeks ago that the free subscription was available, but only to those who already had a Fubo account.

Those whose accounts have expired or have just completed a free trial may be eligible for the free service.

Customers can access the service by logging into their fubo.tv account.

Two options should be displayed at the bottom of the screen: “Reactivate subscription” or “Go to free content”.

What is Fubo:

Fubo is a cable alternative for streaming sports and live television.

Fubo was founded in 2015 by CEO David Gandler. Gandler is also a co-owner of the Paris FC soccer team and serves as a trustee of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Foundation.

The company is the first live sports television streaming platform, available in the US, Canada and Spain.

Fubo operates a service called Molotov in France.

There are several plans that Fubo subscribers can purchase from $79.99 to $99.99.

All plans include a free trial, unlimited hours of Cloud DVR, and the ability to watch on up to 10 screens.

More expensive plans include more channels to stream.

Subscribers can stream Fubo on computers, iPhones, iPads, Androids, Roku, Apple TV, Xbox, Chromecast, and Amazon Fire TV.

Fubo has popular channels including ABC, CBS, Fox, ESPN, Fox Sports, NFL Network, Fox News, FX, and Paramount Network.

Subscribers can also watch a variety of sports, including NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NASCAR, MLS, golf, tennis, boxing, MMA and college sports.

Once subscribers select the latter option, they will be able to access the free version of Fubo.

The Fubo Free experience includes free channels, but subscribers will not be able to record, access their previously recorded programs, or watch local and regional channels.

For subscribers who want more content, plans start at $79.99 per month. The cheapest plan includes 191 channels, unlimited hours of Cloud DVR, and up to 10 screens.

The Elite plan costs $89.99 per month and includes 259 channels, unlimited hours of Cloud DVR, and up to 10 screens.

Lastly, the Premier plan costs $99.99 per month and includes 268 channels, unlimited hours of Cloud DVR, up to 10 screens, access to Paramount+, and access to Showtime.

All plans are eligible for a free trial and subscribers can opt for the free version after their plans expire.

Channels available to stream on Fubo include ABC, Fox, NBC, NBC Sports, FS1, E!, Fox News, MSNBC, ESPN, and FX.
