ROKU fans can use a feature on their mobile app that allows them to stream the latest music and play videos on their TVs.

The trick is ideal for anyone who is organizing a party and wants to impress their guests.

All users need to do is ensure they have the Roku app installed on their iPhone or Android device.

And the process of projecting cell phone photos takes just a few steps, as revealed in the Roku support page.

iPhone and Android users should ensure their Roku app is up to date.

The cell phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the Roku device.

Then, they must connect their Roku device to the app.

This can be done through the devices tab in the navigation bar.

Then users can access the Media section, which falls under the Devices section.

This means hosts can enhance the atmosphere of their gatherings with family and friends.

Using the Play on Roku tool, they can share whatever video clips they want.

MP3 music tracks and MP4 videos are among the files supported by the Play on Roku function.

Alternatively, users can project a montage of their favorite photos onto the screen.

But it’s not the only way hosts start their parties.

iPhone users can use AirPlay to transfer files to their Roku devices.

But they must ensure their software is updated to iOS 12.3 at a minimum.

More than 80 million people around the world have a Roku account.

This milestone was hailed by executives when it was reached earlier this year.

“As a leading streaming TV platform, Roku aims to make television better for everyone,” said Anthony Wood, the CEO.

“In a world where one day all TV will be broadcast, we are immensely proud to be the home screen programmers for more than 80 million active accounts around the world, connecting people directly to what they love to watch.”

SECURITY SCALE

Roku bosses recently released a security update after thousands of accounts were affected.

Hackers used login details from different accounts to try to access Roku accounts.

Roku bosses revealed that around 576,000 accounts were affected by the cybersecurity scare.

The Chiefs responded to the attack by beefing up their security measures, including enabling two-factor authentication on all accounts.

The security measure was applied to accounts that were not even affected by the security scare.

“We understand that 2FA adds an extra step to the login process. That’s why we work hard to make it as simple as possible,” said a spokesperson.
