YOU can earn free gift cards almost effortlessly.
It’s thanks to a special scheme called Microsoft Rewards that costs nothing to try.
Once you sign up, you’ll earn Microsoft Rewards points.
You can carry out very regular activities, such as searching on Bing or even playing video games.
And these can be exchanged for tempting gifts whenever you want.
“It’s easy to accumulate Microsoft Rewards points and earn great rewards like gift cards, movies, games, donations to nonprofits, and more.
“Stay signed in with your Microsoft account and you’ll earn points for doing the things you already do.”
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN MICROSOFT REWARDS
First, you need to make sure you have a Microsoft account – and that’s all.
Microsoft Rewards is included in your account as standard.
If you’ve already used Bing Rewards, don’t stress: Bing Rewards accounts have automatically been transferred to Microsoft Rewards.
There are some details to consider.
You cannot use Microsoft Rewards if you are under 13 without parental consent.
And you’ll need to be signed in to Microsoft for your activity to be recorded – otherwise, what you’re doing won’t count towards your points total.
HOW TO EARN MICROSOFT REWARDS
There are many ways to earn Microsoft Rewards.
And you’ll level up as you earn, with the promise of Level 2 once you earn 500 points per month.
Microsoft lists the following ways to earn points:
- Search with Google
- Search the web via the search box on the taskbar of your Windows 10/11 device
- Buy items online from the Microsoft Store (on your mobile device, on Xbox One, in the Microsoft Store app on your Windows 10/11 or Windows 8.1 device, or on the web)
- Explore the win page and the point division page. Opportunities to earn points, like taking quizzes or playing trivia games, are updated daily, so check back often
- Play select games or complete select missions on Xbox One. Launch the Rewards app to get started. For more information, see Earn rewards on Xbox
- Get personal reward points from a corporate or school account
HOW TO FIND REWARDS ON XBOX

Here’s what you need to know…
You can easily find rewards on your Xbox.
Just boot up your console and press the Xbox button.
Then navigate through the guide and go to Profile and System.
Now choose Profile and select My Rewards from the menu.
You can then view the Rewards Hub to find out how to earn points and set goals.
And you will also be able to redeem your points for rewards here.
Microsoft says you can also view and turn in your Xbox Game Pass missions in the Rewards hub.
The points you earn vary.
But, for example, making qualifying purchases from the Microsoft Store will earn you between 10 to 20 points for every $1 spent – once you reach level 2.
You can also earn points on your smartphone if you use the Bing search engine or the Bing app.
Be warned: Your points will expire if you do not perform earning activities in 18 months.
HOW TO REDEEM MICROSOFT REWARDS
Microsoft Rewards points do not have a strict value that can be exchanged for cash.
But Microsoft says you can redeem something worth about $5 for 5,000 points — about 1,000 points per dollar.
Spending points is easy and Microsoft will notify you when you can redeem them.
“Once you have enough points, eligible rewards will be visible on your rewards page,” explains Microsoft.
“Save up to buy one big item and spend your points on smaller rewards along the way – however you want to redeem your points, we’ve got you covered.
“We’ll track your points progress, so you can keep earning and spending without counting on your fingers.”
