APPLE’s iPhone 16 is almost here – and I think I know when it will be released.

Last year, I predicted the iPhone 15 release date for September 22nd, and it’s time to check my technology crystal ball once again.

Apple has not confirmed any official plans for an iPhone 16.

But all rumors (and common sense) point to Apple getting ready to launch a major new smartphone later this year.

O iPhone Maker is a creature of habit when it comes to releasing new gadgets.

So I’m sure I know exactly when next top model is going to land, so mark those calendars and start saving.

IPHONE 16 RELEASE DATE – WHEN WILL IT BE RELEASED?

It’s impossible to say with 100% certainty when the iPhone 16 will arrive.

In fact, the company won’t even confirm the launch event date until about two weeks before it takes place.

Selected media will receive special invitations from Apple to the gadget extravaganza, confirming the big date.

So what do we know for sure?

For starters, a new flagship iPhone arrives annually and typically in September.

Apple Vision Pro Review I’ve been using high-tech headphones every day – there are three places I’m obsessed with using them

This launch usually takes place in the first fortnight of each month – and usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

For this year, we expect the iPhone 16 to be revealed on Tuesday, September 10th or Wednesday, September 11th.

However, this last hypothesis is unlikely because the date is associated with the September 11th tragedy in the United States.

This means the iPhone 16 reveal date will almost certainly be Tuesday, September 10th.

iPhone Tricks to Try Today

Here are some of the best…

  • Typing cursor – When typing, hold down the spacebar to turn your keyboard into a trackpad, allowing you to move words and sentences more easily
  • Close all Safari tabs – To do this in one go, simply hold the overlapping squares in the bottom right corner and press close all tabs
  • Delete many photos quickly – Long press a photo and drag your finger diagonally across Photos to select multiple images at once and click delete
  • Convert currency quickly – Swipe down from the top of the home screen, tap the bar and enter a currency (like €200) and it will automatically convert to your local currency
  • Check if you need a battery upgrade – Batteries inside smartphones degrade over time. Just go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health and check the Maximum Capacity reading. Generally, a battery is considered exhausted when its capacity is reduced to 80%. If it’s below, you can buy a battery change from Apple
  • Move apps faster – Hold an app until it starts to jiggle, then (while holding) tap other apps, making them stack so you can move them more easily

From there, we can work back and forth to predict a series of milestones.

We expect invitations to the event to arrive on Tuesday, August 17th.

And then we’ll likely see pre-orders for the phone available on Friday, September 13th.

The new iOS 18 software update, which will reach millions of iPhones around the world, will likely be released on Monday, September 16th.

The iPhone 16 will likely hit stores about a week and a half after its announcement, if previous years are anything to go by.

This is a free update that will also equip the new iPhone 16, as well as bring many features to your existing devices.

Typically, we expect reviews of the device to be published soon after, once gadget experts have had a good chance to try it out – so keep an eye out for those on Wednesday, September 18th.

Lastly (and most importantly), the actual iPhone 16 release date in stores will likely be Friday, September 20th.

COMPLETE LIST OF IPHONE 16 DATE PREDICTIONS

So here’s the full list of US Sun’s predictions for the scheduled launch of the iPhone 16:

  • Apple iPhone 16 Event Invitations – Tuesday, August 27
  • iPhone 16 launch event – Tuesday, September 10
  • iPhone 16 Pre-Orders – Friday, September 13
  • iOS 18 release date – Monday, September 16
  • iPhone 16 online reviews – Wednesday, September 18
  • iPhone 16 release date – Friday, September 20

Of course, these dates are not guaranteed. In fact, they could be completely wrong.

But they’re my best guesses based on what we’ve seen from Apple in the past.
