Just three days ago, a user shared that they left Prime after 20 years as members.

“Tired of ordering something and having the delivery date changed!” the user noted in a Reddit thread.

“Someone should file a class action lawsuit!” they added.

It could be argued that a big part of Amazon Prime’s success is that it made fast and cheap shipping viable.

Therefore, disappointing users in this regard, especially old customers, was seen as a huge blow.

Since going live, the original poster’s thread has racked up hundreds of upvotes and replies.

“I’m right behind you. Orders are coming in later and later!” one comment read.

“And the offers and products are not that good!!!” they added.

“I canceled Prime last week for the same reasons,” said another.

“I got tired of the bait and switch in shipping dates, let alone two-day shipping, the streaming commercials, and the refusal to refund an item I returned to Whole Foods but somehow couldn’t get back, to the sound of $300. See you soon, Prime! they added.

Six Ways to Save Money on Amazon

While delivery issues were a popular complaint, some users shared other concerns with the service.

“I have received expired items, Alexa is essentially useless now, ads in movies, increased prices, unhappy workers…” commented one person.

“I canceled mine a few months ago. I hope more people join the club. I had it when they sold books, it was my favorite company,” they added.

The user shared several reasons to support his opinion, including one of the app’s most controversial changes: ads.

The first is Try before you buywhich is exclusive to Prime.

This allows you to try on new styles and sizes of clothes before purchasing them.

You can return them within seven days at no cost – and you only have to pay for the products you keep.

It’s a more economical way to try on clothes as it means you’re not always making money.

The second is Amazon Photoswhich is extremely useful if you are a serial snapper.

This gives you access to unlimited full-resolution photo storage, plus 5GB of video storage.

Third is Prime readingwhich offers “a rotating collection of over 3,000 digital books, audiobooks, magazines, comics, and more.”

Fourth is another advantage for book lovers: Amazon First Reads.

This gives you early access to a new book for free every month.

Fifth is a brilliant privilege called Prime Games.

This gives you free games and gaming content every month, as well as a free Twitch channel subscription to use every month.

You’ll also be able to play a rotating selection of free games on Amazon’s cloud gaming service, Luna.

Sixth on the list is Member Sharing.

This allows you to share your existing Prime membership with your family – specifically between two adults, four teenagers and four children under 13.

Seventh on the list is Amazon Music.

This lets you listen to over 100 million ad-free songs, plus thousands of popular playlists and podcasts.

And finally, don’t forget to unlock Grubhub+.

If you’re a Prime member in the US, you can get a one-year trial of Grubhub+, which normally costs $9.99 per month.

This gives you unlimited $0 delivery fees on any order over $12.

Since Amazon introduced ads on its video platform in January, many have canceled their subscriptions.

Not only are ads inconvenient, but users also have to pay an additional $2.99 per month if they want to go ad-free.

Amazon said the ads would allow them to continue investing in compelling content, but some users haven’t bought into it.

Prime Video has become the latest streaming service to introduce ads to its platform.

The service now joins the other four most popular streaming sites in the US: Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+ and Max.

Amazon Prime launched in 2005 as an Amazon membership service offering free two-day shipping.

Since then, the company has become one of the largest in the world and is now worth 1.8 billion dollars.
