The NASA channel was a great option for Hulu fans who cared about space and science in general.

But Hulu no longer has streaming rights to the channel.

The company is expected to remove the NASA channel from its TV library on August 28 this year.

“We wanted to inform you that starting 8/28/2024, Hulu will no longer have the distribution rights to the NASA channel that was previously included in your Live TV plan,” Hulu explained in an email to customers .

“You still have access to over 95 live channels of your favorite sports, news and entertainment.”

Hulu added: “As always, it’s easy to switch between our subscription plans.”

Fans were sad to hear the news, with one Reddit user writing: “This is unfortunate, I love watching space/science content.

“I bet a lot of people didn’t even know that.”

Another said: “Disappointed. Will the recordings need to be watched by this date? I have some to watch.”

One simply responded with two crying face emojis, clearly distraught over the loss.

And one added: “It’s a shame, they’re the only TV streaming platform that offers this.

“I was actually hoping it would appear on more operators, I can’t imagine it being too expensive. We need more science-based TV!”

The good news is that you can still watch the NASA channel without paying a penny.

There is a new, free version of the NASA channel available on the space agency’s app.

Stream Switching – The Easiest Way to Cut Your Bills?

Here’s what Sean KeachHead of Technology and Science at The Sun, thinks…

It’s no secret that TV streaming apps are costing more and more.

Not only are prices skyrocketing, but we are also forced to pay for an ever-increasing number of apps and services.

And when you combine those TV bills with your music streaming, cell phone and internet fees, and all the other drains on your bank account, it all starts to get a little much.

One of the best ways to reduce your TV bills is to simply cancel all your streaming subscriptions and sign up for just one per month.

Choose an app like Netflix, Disney+ or Apple TV+ and explore all the content you want to watch on that app.

Then, the following month, swap it for something else.

And after doing them all, you can go back to the beginning again.

It’s an easy way to avoid spending on an ongoing library of streaming apps with more content than you could possibly watch.

Also don’t forget that paid streaming isn’t the only game in town.

There are many apps that don’t cost a penny to enjoy, and downloading a few will unlock thousands of live TV channels, as well as tens of thousands of movies and shows.

Try apps like Tubi, Amazon Freevee, The Roku Channel, Plex, and Pluto TV to get ad-supported television without having to pay any monthly fees.

You’ll be able to watch a wide range of content, including live NASA events.

Hulu hasn’t specifically explained why it lost the rights to the channel, but it may be tied to NASA’s own plans with its own app.

The footprint with the NASA app is that there is no DVR option.

But it’s still a free and easy way to get the latest science content directly from NASA.

It’s unclear whether existing DVR recordings of the NASA channel on Hulu will disappear.

If you’re worried, it’s best to watch them before the license fully expires.
