A TV goldmine is lurking on your Roku devices and you may have missed it.

There are hundreds of channels plus thousands of movies and TV shows waiting to be unlocked.

But it’s easy for Roku fans to miss out because everything is tied to a service called Amazon Freevee.

This is an ad-supported streaming service that doesn’t cost a dime.

And there are several reasons why you might not have noticed this.

For starters, Amazon Freevee can be found in the regular Amazon Prime Video app.

Normally you’d pair Amazon Prime with a paid subscription, but Freevee doesn’t cost anything.

Fortunately, you can also download Amazon Freevee as its own individual app.

This may also be surprising, as Amazon and Roku are technically rivals – with competing plug-in streaming devices.

So Roku owners may not expect to receive such a huge selection of free TV from Amazon.

Also, the Amazon Freevee wasn’t always called that.

It actually started out as IMDb Freedive, before changing to IMDB TV.

The service only changed its name to Amazon Freevee on April 28, 2022.

It is available in several countries around the world and comes with some huge benefits.

“Amazon’s Freevee is a free, premium streaming service,” Amazon explained.

“Watch thousands of hit movies, shows, Freevee Originals and live entertainment channels 24/7 to match your mood.”

Stream Switching – The Easiest Way to Cut Your Bills?

Here’s what Sean KeachHead of Technology and Science at The Sun, thinks…

It’s no secret that TV streaming apps are costing more and more.

Not only are prices skyrocketing, but we are also forced to pay for an ever-increasing number of apps and services.

And when you combine those TV bills with your music streaming, cell phone and internet fees, and all the other drains on your bank account, it all starts to get a little much.

One of the best ways to reduce your TV bills is to simply cancel all your streaming subscriptions and sign up for just one per month.

Choose an app like Netflix, Disney+ or Apple TV+ and explore all the content you want to watch on that app.

Then, the following month, swap it for something else.

And after doing them all, you can go back to the beginning again.

It’s an easy way to avoid spending on an ongoing library of streaming apps with more content than you could possibly watch.

Also don’t forget that paid streaming isn’t the only game in town.

There are many apps that don’t cost a penny to enjoy, and downloading a few will unlock thousands of live TV channels, as well as tens of thousands of movies and shows.

Try apps like Tubi, Amazon Freevee, The Roku Channel, Plex, and Pluto TV to get ad-supported television without having to pay any monthly fees.

Amazon Freevee offers more than 400 live channels, according to the latest figures.

And its on-demand library of movies and TV shows boasts more than 40,000 titles.

All of this content is available on the Roku version of the service, and you don’t have to pay a dime to enjoy it.

But you’ll have to watch some commercials to make up for the fact that you’re not paying a monthly bill.

FREE STREAMING! Applications offer free TV

Here are some of the most popular apps that offer at least some free streaming content…

  • Tubi
  • Free Amazon
  • Plexus TV
  • The Roku Channel
  • Sling Freestream (via Sling TV)
  • FilmRise

  • Amazing TV
  • Pluto TV
  • Location now
  • Haystack News
  • Red Bull TV
  • Free movies more
  • PBS Children’s Video

Of course, Roku isn’t the only place you can watch Amazon Freevee.

It is also available at:

  • Amazon Fire TV
  • Android TV
  • Apple TV
  • GoogleTV
  • LG
  • Playstation 4
  • PlayStation 5
  • Samsung Smart TV
  • Xbox
  • Xfinity

You don’t need to log in to Amazon to enjoy the Freevee app.

But you can save your viewing progress across devices if you do this.

And you’ll have a generally more personalized experience by logging in with one account.
